Appreaciation Dinner Update

The dinner is over and an excellent time was had by all who attended. Dinner was a choice between Chicken, or Filet. I had the filet steak and my wife had chicken , and both were very delicious. They had door prizes and awards as well. They had a few service awards and then they went to the training attendance awards, there were alot who had a 100% on the medic training and fire training. When it was all said and done there were 3 who attended both 100% and it was my Lt and another from station… Continue

Snow

The winter storm is over, and we got about 8 1/2 inches in Southern Montgomery county Ohio. The good thing was there were no severe MVA's no major fires in our Township and it was a fairly normal night on the medic, both units had close numbers of runs. I figured we would either get slammed or sit all night. I commend my Department, as they staffed all stations with the volleys and had just 2 respond to medic assist calls with a staff car, while leaving 2 at the station to man the engine just… Continue

Appreaciation Dinner

This Saturday Night our Department is having a dinner for our families mainly to show our appreaciation for putting up with what we do, (run out at dinner time, just as we start out to go to the store Etc.) It also turns out to be an awards ceromony at the same time, and not just awards that are for things we do well but some how should I say, for some crazy things as well LOL. I did not attend last year mainly cause I wasn't to sure of what it was going to be like where they held it. This year… Continue

Another blog about my medic night

Medic shift came and went and once again the calls came separated just long enough to get about 2 hours of sleep WHAT A RUSH LOL but seriously we did have a good medic night no serious injuries or illnesses, and at least when we get the runs like we did it makes me feel like I am actually earning my paycheck, I really do not like just siting around the station and not doing anything, we get into work and check the medic over for supplies and equipment properly functioning, and a couple of house… Continue

Possibilities

I have been thinking alot this quarter since I had to take a break from medics class, I may if all things work out right take a level II firefighter class in the spring. But that all depends on when and if it is offered then. If I take it this spring I should be able to continue with the medics class during the summer, as long as things around here calm down some by then.

Updates

Well it has been awhile since I have been on here and it quite frankly stinks....I enjoy chatting with my Brothers and Sisters. But things around the house are like totally crazy, between taking my daughter to preschool everyday, and the step kids to work, I have very little time to jump on here to see whats going on with everyone. I also had to take a break from going to school because of all I have mentioned as well, (which really sucks) but will get back into that soon enough hopefully. I… Continue

Blackjack Flashlight holder

I just recieved my new blackjack holder in the mail today and I must say it seems to be really well built, I tried it out and still have to put it on my helmet at work but Man it works great, keeps the light tucked up under the brim of the helmet so there is entanglement issues in my opinion a great piece to have.

A New Year and A New Attitude

Just a quick note that this being a new year and since I had started in class in the fall I had fallen off of my exercising, and as it would be I gained weight that I didn't want to. that being said my new attitude is that I will start up again with working out and losing weight, not only so I can do my job better, but so I don't have any health problems at a fire scene, I wanna be able to do all the work I am assigned without having to catch my breath. All in all its for the better to get into… Continue
