On Friday we buried a brother and friend. Driver Jarrett A. Dixon died on Saturday Jan. 12th after sufffering chest pains will working out at Station 5. I continue to realize we can go at any time, so I try hard not to dwell on petty crap. For those of us that have lost a brother or sister firefighter we truley recieve a sobering reminder that life is too short. It never ceases to amaze me that almost every day Billy Goldfeder has to post to the secret list another FF fatality or serious injury. Our job is dangerous, risky and what we do. I honestly thought that by this point in my Emergency Service career we would have made a difference in reducing the loss of life and critical injuries we suffer.
