WOW What a Night, another one with no sleep, we only had four calls but they were laid out just right to keep us up all night. The good news is no life threateningg calls, just the typical injuries from falls type. Only 1 more shift on this medic(44) and then I get transferred to M43 on Nov 10th.

We are down to like 7 classes left for the quarter, I am starting to get a little worried although I have decent scores in class, I still get that way. Just gotta tell myself to stop, relax and breath, and it will be okay.

Got back from the lab test over Pharacology, starting IVs and medication injections. I am happy to say with one minor hiccup that I passed, no 100% on this one though. I missed on the sq injection of checking to make sure I wasn't in a vein, no big deal I passed on the 2nd attempt Thank God.

I just found out last night at the start of my medic shift that they are transfering a bunch of us around to diffrent medics, I am going to our M43 starting Nov 10th. The reason is to try and get 2 paramedics on each medic, which makes alot of sense when it comes to patient care. If we were to get alot of als calls with only 1 medic he gets slammed with them all, now with 2 they can switch, or rotate calls. Makes alot of sense.

Woohoo what a blast Lab was today, we were actually using maniquins for the most part, BUt today was about starting IV's and giving sq and im injections. We ended the day by starting an IV on each other (that was the good part LOL) Talk about how cool that was , WOW . Now to read up on the procedures more for the next few days and then Lab Testing time on Tuesday.

OMG is all I can say and Thanks to all who encouraged me to look positive. I got an 76% on the exam a whole lot better than I thought I had done. Although my average went done it is still at an 84% for the class so I am very ecstatic about my grade, if there are any corrections I will post a blog updating them. Thanks to all who responded earlier.

Yesterday we had our training fire at the abandon house and all went well with the exercise, we had a good turn out of personnel as well. One glitch happened during the day and that was our reserve engine that was being used as the attack engine blew out the relief valve and caused an unexpected down time.

Well nothing really bad to update on the Lab Exam, I passed the practical exam part of the Lab. The wierd part was that I was scheduled to take it at 11am but showed up about an hour early figuring I could glance over the Lab book. Well I was in and done before 11am and was actually home by about 10 min after 11 today. Now time to study for this Fridays exam 2.

Well Medics lab was more or less a review of patient assessment; still have a test on it Tuesday morning though. It was kind of weird though cause some how I ended up in a group of ladies and when we went through the motions of trauma rapid assessment each of us had to be the victim and rescuer. Talk about awkward knowing that the person you are going to touch really isn’t hurt and being of the opposite sex wow that was tough. Although we all made it through the drill, all of us and the…

Well class today wasn't what I thought the instructor was going to cover, Initially since the wind storm he was going to keep us longer today and make up one day of class combining two into one but that wasn't so. Now we have to make sure we cover the material ourselves which isn't to bad, but still would have been best in class, at least we have a week in order to read over the material and get ready for the 2nd exam.
