But as an addendum to the thoughts expressed in it, the City of Providence finally saw the errors of their ways and passed the "Presumptive Cancer Ordinance", which essentially states that if a firefighter contracts cancer, it is considered job-related and if they have to retire, they can still receive their retirement benefits.
