2006 stats from U.S. Fire Administration
1,140,900 (career: 316,950, volunteer: 823,950)
Firefighters by age group: 16-19 (3.9%), 20-29 (21.1%), 30-39 (28.7%), 40-49 (26.4%), 50-59 (14.9%) 60 and over (5.0%)
There were 3,245 civilians that lost their lives as the result of fire.
There were 16,400 civilian injuries that occurred as the result of fire.
There were 106 firefighters…
