The bell ring and we jump out of bed,
putting on your gear and putting our helmet on your head,
the truck roll out in the pouring rain,
headed to a wreck between a car and a train,

As the truck rolls up all we can see is a ball of fire,
knowing anyone in it would surely expire,
a call goes to dispatch "Get the bird in the air"
we pull a line and start the attack,
one from the side and one sraying the tank from the back,

as we approach the car with care,
we see someone is still in there,
we push back the flames to get close to the car,
another team comes in to pop the door,
and while pulling the patient out a shower of beer can lay on the floor,

As one team suppresses the fire,
the driver is being secured,
loading them into the bird,
flying them to the burn unit,

Why people drink and drive,
I will never understand,
But the thing we have to remember is,
their lives are in our hands.

Amen brother,,, way too many lives end early due to drinking and driving and its sooo damn preventable. It wouldnt hurt my feelings to NEVER respond to another accident caused by drinking.
