Years in Fire/EMS:: 14 years, first as a state trooper, then firefighter-paramedic

Why I Joined Fire/EMS: When I was in first grade, back in the days of my all time favorite show "Adam-12", I knew that someday I would be a police officer or firefighter. Back then my main reason for wanting to be one was so I could run code 3 any time.

When I got older, I got tired of the people who would just stand around and not react when an emergency would occur, and decided that I wanted to be someone who didn't just stand around. I wanted to be in a position to actually help people.

I enjoyed the job until an on the job injury forced me to retire, and I miss it really bad.
