Im a second generation firefighter in the Dublin Fire Brigade. I joined in 1997 and never looked back. Sadly my father passed away in 1990 so I never got to share a branch line with him. He joined the DFB in 1964 and was still serving at time of death.
I married Caroline in 2002 and we now have four beautiful daughters. The lads give me severe stick over my "cissy mickey" but I can take it. Katie is 6, Grace is 4, Ellie is 2 and Ruby is 3 weeks. All three big girls are red heads and its too early to be definite on Ruby but indications are strong in favour of 4 in a row!

Hi Willie: Great to meet you. I look forward to seeing you around the pages. Nice to have another Irish firefighter around - never enough of the Irish. Stay safe. Heather
Hello Willie, and welcome to the Nation. Nise to have another non-North American person around ;o)
I've seen your post, and had heard that Dublin had the combined service. Not too likely to happen here - not since the Ambulance service changed to requiring a three year Uni degree of Paramedic, not likely at all really...
