Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I grew up around the fire service and always looked up to the firefighters and always wanted to be one. Most of the firemen I knew growing up were and some still are on our department it was like learning from your childhood heros. I really dont believe there ever was a time when I didnt want to be a fireman.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
I love the rush of the call and the feeling you get from helping others
Top Issues Facing Responders:
I would say for our department it would be old equipment, having active members and training. Its hard for volunteers to keep equipment and training up to current levels with limited funds and limited time. Now days its hard to get volunteers who can give the time needed or are willing to even volunteer.

Wes,

I used to be pretty open and trusting, but then I found out the hard way that there are lots of people that will take advantage of that in a variety of ways.

There are lots of selfish and dishonest people in the world, and especially on the internet where it's easy to rip people off anonymously, especially if they leave their information out there for everyone to see.

Thus, my position that there are some things in real life - and online - that deserve privacy. My comments to some of my friends in a couple of closed groups are part of that.

You may be open and trusting, but you need to respect other people's right to be less open and less trusting than you are.

Thanks for commenting back,
Ben
