Other Past or Current Departments and Organizations
Over the years:
callman - Rochester NH FD
callman / rescue squad EMT - Madbury NH FD and FAST
Fire explorer/PoC FF/call Lieut./PT shift work - Newington NH FD
My Training:
FFII, EMT-I, Ice, Swift, Water Rescue Technician, member Area Lakes Underwater Rescue Team (ALURT-Laconia NH FD Dive Team), etc.
I never grew up so that childhood dream of being a firefighter never went away. I also watched firefighters from Local 1313 Portsmouth NH FD work on my mother when she suffered Cardiac Arrest when I was 13. Even tho' she died, the way they came storming in and got to the task like professionals struck me deep. I joined the Newington NH FD Fire Explorers months later and never looked back.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
the penison and retirement system, and that I go to work and put in an honest days work doing a noble profession and it is for the publics benefit
Top Issues Facing Responders:
* staffing
* financial support
* we are killing ourselves the same way over and over again
* uneducated city management/voters

Hello SJ,
I've been the Lake Winnipesaukee. Went diving there in 91 and located the old scuddled ferry boat just off shore from a dive shop, whic my cousin ran. He's now Portsmouth's Harbormaster.Visibility was about 1 inch.Also had an Aunt who owned a lake house in Wolfsboro and have an Aunt and Uncle who still live in Laconia. My uncle was the Chief on the Gilford VFD back in the 60s. That is a beautiful and historic part of the USA.
