Kena: I just re read your information sheet and noticed you have listed suicide and line of duty death as topics of keen interest and at the top of your issues facing fire and ems. At firefighterveteran.com/ you will find our e newsletter for spring of 08. Click on it and read the letter from a fire capt. in Edmonton Canada written on the suicide death of a member in the Calgary Alberta Canada Fire Service. The letter and the e newsletter speak for themselves. Please read it and share along with the web site .... the power to save lives is contained within the message ...... I have been on 6 fire fighter suicide deaths as a C.F.D. Honor Guardsmen and did the flag fold over the members caskets with my partner. The suicide rates are buried and not reported and remain a disgrace to our service. We need to turn this around and with help from your self and other firstresponder veterans we will do that. NAFFVN was formed in March of 2002 after being encouraged to do so by the Vietnam Veterans Travelling Tribute. I would welcome and publish any article you would write and e mail to me regarding this very topic....just send it to firefighterveteran@hotmail.com.....I encourage you to voice what you are thinking in your own words and it will be posted on the site without any edits....I would like a little more on your background and if you agree with me I will use what you have posted on this web site to give it a pre able in the opening....thanks and thank you for having the courage and the spunk to stay on the front lines in Americas Communities.....
Be Safe

Hello Kena: Thanks for the invite. For your information. I will be in Toronto Ontario Canada next week on Feb 08th to attend an Educational conference on acute and post traumatic stress. The study is part two and release of information by the research team. I will be sitting on a review Pannel representing the Emergency Services Fire Fighters. Beside me will be a member of law enforcement and e.m.s. Now is your chance to give me some feed back in an email if you want your views exchanged with the 300 registered attendants.....cheers....
