They yelled "we have smoke showing!" My wife rushed into our kitchen with a fire extinguisher. The Children appalued her firefighting skills!! I was asked kindly to leave the kitchen and stop cooking.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS
Wanted to make a difference in a world that is falling apart. Another reason was giving back, When it seems we as a race seem to think of ourselves, and get in the mind set, what is in it for me. Just didn't want to become of the world. I want to be that difference.

Who is your HERO.

Even fireman have Hero's, sorta werid in my case. My hero is a family member and a fellow firefighter. Captain Ben Hays is my younger brother, he is the other shift captain at CPFD in College Place, Washington. Ben age 31, works full time as a electrician. He then devotes time to serve on a shift for the CP Fire Department. We are as close as any brothers can be. We train together, and teach classes together. Hey Capt. whats happening in College Place? Do ya'll have a Chief yet? Last meeting I went to Boose was attending and representing CPFD. Our Chief just announced he will be accepting the job as Chief of Pasco Fire accrross the River. It will be good for them to have him on board. Take care man!

No problem, do what ya gotta do! Things have really dropped off here in the "cities" and it has been pleasantly quiet. EMS, car fire or two and some small foire stuff. I think the big "Ya'll come" wildland season is over.....unless we get a big wind event. Take care, don't work too hard! Mike

Ran in to some of your crew last Monday and Tuesday. They came up to the Hyw 262 Fire in Othello on the Columbia National Wildlife Refuge; mutual aid for F&WS. Spent some time chattin with Jeff on the Water Tender.
