Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I first joined the volunteer department with my husband to fill in for our community. I never imagined that it would effect me the way that it did. After a few months, I knew I had found my passion. As a female, I have had to prove myself to be up to the job just as a male would be, and sometimes found that I was scrutinized a little harder because of it. I tried for 1 & 1/2 years to get on with the larger department in the area and finally got the spot. Since then, I have dedicated my time and efforts into improving myself, the department, and the community to the best of my ability.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
I love the excitement of the action, but I mostly get the greatest reward at seeing the expression of gratitude and appreciation when I am looked upon by members of the community.

My name is Adel and I am trying to figure out what products are best for female firefighters. I have worked as a firefighter for only three years so I am just getting started. Currently I am a student at Eastern algerinne University in in the Fire & Safety Engineering Technology Program. Although I have only been a firefighter for three years I have had my fair share of small gloves that were still too big and pants that went up to my belly button! I was wondering if you could take the time out of your busy schedule to share some of your favorite/best fitting/most functional products for female firefighters. Weather it’s an awesome fitting pair of pants, A polo shirt that has sleeves that do not go down to your elbows, a pair of great gloves, or boots that have an awesome fit. It would be greatly appreciated if you could share your opinions with me. Thank you very much. Please feel free to e-mail me back at adel_pomper@hotmail.com

Hey
Thanks i mean im starting to see some more respect the more fires we have. They are not treating me as if im a lil girl anymore. They are throwing me into stuff and letting me do my own thing but they are still right there behide me...i believe that they are this way bc i did grow up around most of the men on that fire department...most of them are like my other dad, and having my dad on the department with me kinda doesnt help either but he backs me no matter what..so thanks again and stay safe!!!!
