I am currently attending Weatherford college for my AAS in Fire Administration.

Top Issues Facing Responders:
Safety on scene and enroute to scenes, budget cuts, lack of education requirements for volunteers
Fire is the third leading cause of accidental death in the home.
At least 80% of all fire deaths occur in residents.

Cooking is the number one cause of fires.

About 2 million fires are reported each year.

Careless smoking is the leading cause of fire deaths.

There has never been a reported fatality by fire in a structure with a properly installed, operating and maintained sprinkler system.

Parker County E.S.D. No. 1 Responds to approximately 1200 calls each year for Emergency Services. We have already responded to over 1400 calls for 2008 with over a month left.
