Initially fullfilled childhood fantasy. What kid doesn't grow up wanting to be a firefighter. Fortunately, I had a chance to live that dream.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
that those that do not do it, will never understand. How to explain adrenalin rush? Trauma Junkie? How to explain, from the mere sound of a siren miles away, that you know what unit it is.
haha yeah i know..... even when we get the chance to cook in at the firehouse the food is usually god awful for you (who in their right mind boils green beans in salad dressing insteada water?!????) ...... i also did 4 yrs worth of midnight shift pd side which meant fast food central was our only food source so i know all bout the crap food choices.... ive just been focusing on eatin healthier when im at home and on exercisin more
hahahah nice..... they really do listen to EVERYTHING.... its rediculous.... the 6yo boy i watch can tell you all the internal organs because i went over them only once.....
I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I lost my Best Friend, Hero, Soul Mate, of 18 yrs. May 29, 2007. Fire Chief Anthony Coy, Burbank Airport Fire.
My prayers are with FF McAtees family and friends. Especially the ones a lot of peope forget, his fire family. We aren't as tough as everyone around us would like to think. When its one of our own its not as easy to over come.

Hey there! Thanks for the welcome comment. I've been on this site for a while, but just started messing around with it last night. Maybe I'll get the hang of it soon! Take care and be safe!
Thanks for what I assume is the standard welcome. I'm a Myspacer and generally a lot more private....I've still got to get the hang of navigating in here.
Stay Safe,
Sara
Thank you very much Badger. I will make sure to check out the other wedsite as well. I like watching videos and reading articels. It gives me alot of insite. Also, at times, they have some pretty funny ones as well. Your grammer is emaculate by the way. I do alot of reading and watching to keep me focused and in the zone on the tasks at hand.
I am sooo glad that I found this site and I am having a ball exploring all that it has to offer. I am relatively new to EMS at under 5 years and am eager to learn all that I can. Thanks for the encouragement.
thank you for the welcome, i have read closecalls and the secret list a few times, and find it very informational, we can all learn by mistakes... stay safe out there!
Thanks for the informative Welcome. I have no FF experience other than being the wife of one. I joined so I could connect with other wives of you brave souls who keep us safe from harm.
Thanks for the welcome Badger, I appreciate the information. I get updates from F.F.closecalls and appreciate the information on how to keep the guys and myself safe.
You're Everyone Goes Home notes were right on target. It has taken me several years to develop our safety program and earn the respect of my firefighters. Time well spent.
Stay safe
