  • Ron Fink

Ron Fink Asst.Chief of the West Laurens FD in Central upstate NY. If you blink when you drive thru our Hamlet you will miss it. But do not speed thru it because the law loves it because it has a 45mph speed zone and no one does it. We have between 75 to 100 calls each year fire/ems combined. There is three depts. plus one ems dept. in our town which splits up the coverage of 45 sq. miles. My dept. takes care of 15 sq. miles of the town. • Joshua

Rindge, NH population about 2500, we have about 25 members (we need more, but so does everyone) we have two engines, a rescue, a tanker, a brush truck, a hose truck, a boat, and a 4-wheeler, last year we had 880 calls, we had 226 alone in the 12 day period of the December ice storm, so we're really stressed
  • Joshua

oh and the 880 includes mutual aid, if not i'd say our residents have a problem lol
  • froGido

Harrison, Montana is not even an incorporated town and I would be surprised if there were 200 people. Our fire department has less than 20 members, we also cover Pony, Norris and Summit Valley. We have more equipment than people.
  • chris carillo

Montauk, NY is a small summer town on the east end of long island, we have around a hundred members but the reality is 10-15 members showing up to a structure fire. The average age is 42 so you do the math. the hospital is an hour away, and mutual aid at least 20 minutes
  • GirlyFireFighter

Carlisle Oh. small dept. We are paid on call and let me tell ya it wont pay your bills. LOL Alone we do around 250 calls a year. We have one station with a rescue an engine and although we do have a tower we dont run it. Its definatly an old one. We staff around 30 people however there are about 10 of us that run every call. I never knew I could be so close with what were strangers until I came to this dept about 5 months ago. These are the greatest people I have ever worked with in my 5 years of service
  • Deanna

By the sound of it we have a small area, we have 3 frontline engines,5 tankers 3brush trucks, 1 medical rescue, 1heavy rescue 1 reserve engine, ( 1959 Ford) and 1 new pumper-tanker on the way. We are a volunteer dept. Our new station is about 10,000 sq. feet. So I guess we are not doing so bad.
