About Me:: I joined our volunteer fire department one week after my 16th birthday and have loved every minute of it. This year I joined our neighboring towns dept to aid them as a EMT-B. I am in school to get my Paramedic degree!!!

Why I Joined Fire/EMS: I come from a firefighter family. My grandpa was the chief, uncle and dad are captains, my mom is an EMT, and many extended family members, so when I turned 16 it wasn't a shock to anyone that I joined also.
Why I Love Fire/EMS: The close bonds with your comminity and fellow firefighters. (and who could ignore the adrenaline rush)
Top Issues Facing Responders:: Funding. We have severly outdated gear that we don't have the funding to replace all at once. I would also like more classes/trainings that pertain to the smaller depts vs a career dept.
