Ifinally did it, I recently bought my first leather. I decided to go with the Cairns N5A New Yorker Deluxe. It is a little taller than what I am used to and it wears a little different, but overall I think I will like it. Check out my pics and let me know what you think.

Thanks, but shortly after I took this picture I broke out the drill and made the holes myself. Not bad if I do say so myself, even though the center shield is slightly off center you have to look to notice.
congrats Bro looks great
do not put it in the oven,if you want to put abronx bend in it,use the hot water from the tap.let the rear brim sit under the hot water for about five minutes and bend it slowly to the way you want it.
That's a nice looking lid! If you want to get a Bronx Bend get a couple of jobs on the lid and it will droop nicely. Oh yeah if you can't wait, you can hit it gentlywith a torch if your impatient.
man im jealous
looking good looking good realy nice
BROTHER WHERE DID YOU GET THAT BLACK FLASHLITE HOLDER? THE HELMET LOOKS NICE I HAVE THE SAME ON AND I LOVE MINE.
Chief, great looking lid. The chiefs in my area have to wear white. do you have to paint your lid or are you allowed to wear black?
This is my personal lid and it was a long awaited Christmas present to myself and it cost entirely too much to bother with painting it or buying a new one every time I change ranks. I am in a small volunteer department who seems to change ranks frequently from year to year and we issue Paul Conway composites. It is because of this reason I opted to go with black for my first leather and just change shields whenever I change ranks, $40.00 vs $500.00. For example I was Rescue Chief last year when I bought it, department issue is blue and now I am Fire Chief and have a white issue. Next year I could be voted down to Captain or Lieutenant with a red or orange issue or Sergeant which is just a firefighter with 5+ years and issued black. As far as having to wear a certain color it is up to the individual and/or department what style and color that is used. Thanks for admiring my toy and sorry for the delayed response.
I got it from thefirestore.com. It is made by Streamlight and can hold two lights on either side. The light is a Pelican Stealthlight that I got from the same site. I have had several of these through the years and have no complaints other than you have to have good hand strength to take them on and off.
awesome helmet brother! i too recently bought a leather. got myself a 2005 N6A Houston. will never switch again!
