Thanks for the invite Chief. I'll be operations level cert. after the fire school my dept. is putting on for us. Haz-mat was one of the classes that filled up fast lucky for me they let us members sign up first before they opened it up to everyone.

My department is actually very lucky in our training and equipment for hazmat. Everyone on the department is trained to the Operations level, and we have 10 techs on the department as well.

We also have a very strong relationship with the local refinery(since our assistant chief and a couple of members are big wigs there) and we do a lot of mutual training with them.

Thanks Cap. I've never been to it since I'm not a firefighter BUT I've been invited quite a few times to some of their training and such as an observer. Looking forward to another one this summer....something that involves flying fffaaasssstttt!!!!!

On a hot day, "Gross Decon" is my favorite type of decontamination...

Key Point: Check out the offer from the Nevada Test Site... I've been to this training and can personally attest to the fact that it is one of the top training experiences you will ever do in your career, whether it be volunteer or full time paid. To not take advantage of this free training is a waste... Don't miss out.

At the Nevada Test Site we have hazmat training open to all firefighters all over the world. I believe it's sponsored by your local government and you get to train for a week. Let me know if you are interested. I'll send you the schedule.
