About Me:: My love and passion for the Fire Service started at a very young age, I was 2 years old when I started to show interest. At such a young age I would still go around and visit the local stations, climbing on the trucks and having fun. My family moved to Massachusetts when I was about three. I started to go and climb on the trucks at my uncles fire station, were he works as a Firefighter/Mechanic. As I became older I stayed at his station for longer and longer times, and eventually I was able to stay there without my mother being with me. When I hit the age of 11, I started to ride on the command car and a couple of the trucks. I would stay in the cab and watch what they would do on the scene of a call, it was fascinating to me. When I hit the age of 12, they gave me a set of turnout gear and a helmet and I was able to get out of the cab at scene's but not do much. I am now almost 14 and I will be going into an Explorers post along with my uncles fire department. My uncles Department does not have a post, and most likely will not set one up. Which is why I plan on joining the Metropolitan Fire Assoc. in Staten Island, NY. (http://www.mfnyexplorers.org/)
