We are a voluntter fd and there are some people who I can ask but not many. You see I'm one of the old timers too 26 yrs. I'm just use to being a black hat. My chief says I'll do fine and we are starting to do some table top drills during our officers meetings. I'm sure this will help. I've also started doing some reading on the subject also along with other articles.I've also had some guys from other depts. tell me I should be an officer. So here goes nothing. 2013 will be an interesting yr!

Well oour elections were yesterday and I will be a lieutenant for 2013. Very nervous about this endeavor. Everyone says I'll do fine. Just worried about making the wrong choice and getting someone hurt or killed. Thats my biggest fear.

apparently he was involved in a hit-n-run accident which started the car chase for that suspected DUI accident when he ran from the police when they tried to pull him over following the felony hit-n-run incident

 this is a new freeway, low lighting, lots of traffic on a Friday evening end of rush hour... though still quite light traffic - due to it being a new freeway and off the beaten path... and the footage they are showing is AFTER the police started to get a handle on clearing the traffic off the roadways - reducing the risk to the rest of us...

and can I just say that the CHP dragging him out of his car and body slamming him to the ground - this guy can consider a personal gift from me...

This idiot about killed me last night - *$@%#)&%?@#$ HOLY CRAP - my life just flashed before my eyes - crazy police high-speed car chase on the freeway *MY FREEWAY*........... all of this footage is the SAFE part of the car chase... so none

 of it compares to my experience.... as this car chase came flying by me on the freeway (ok, seen two of those before, you pull over and let them by, then back to normal).... but when this *#$@^% whipped a u-turn on MY side of the freeway and came flying back headed DIRECTLY TOWARDS ME... with NO headlights on... with a flock of police following him.... I can not even tell you how scary it was as it was the end of Friday night rush hour traffic so there were tons of traffic on the road and no place to go as this flock of blue lights driving towards me as this *$^#%@ zig-zagged across our 5 lanes - headed the wrong way on the freeway..... and I wish I could say as everyone swerved off the freeway and this a-hole went by... all returned to normal.... but NO.... the idiot had to turn around again on the freeway and lap back by me again... the CA Highway Patrol were everywhere and there was no way to stop, leave, or hide out of the way... Thank God we hit a freeway interchange where the police were allowing our group of traffic to EXIT the freeway onto a different road... as this yahoo continued on (all the footage happened after I left his roadway, and apparently when he u-turned again, at least he went west bound ON the west bound road that time in the footage)... Now can I just say - no one ended up getting hurt by God's grace - but from my perspective the second this a-hole u-turned on MY freeway and was driving head-on into 5 lanes of freeway traffic - that was the exact point I believe he lost his right to life and health and the police should have power smashed him into the concrete freeway divider or off the side of the road into the ditch... not let him (and a flock of police cars) drive head-on towards me and thousands of other people.... and can I just say Thank You Jesus for the helicopter shining a light on the car to provide slight illumination as his bullet car (at over 90 mph) came flying across the lanes at me... personally... so needless to say... a LOT UPSET!!! I have been in a lot of intense situation in my life with my many work and life experiences - but this definitely fits in the top scariest.... EVER!!!
