I just heard that the value of farm land has gone UP 17% from 2007 to 2010... and now farm land is selling above $6700 per acre... and it is a great time to sell farm land... and make money !!!

 

so I guess that is good to hear for those that have land they want to unload

plus as you know - in any given city at any given time - there are always a few fires that are lit

.

because of the heightened alert of the FD & PD the fires became top priority and those low-level average, everyday criminals,  GO CAUGHT !!!!    HEE HEE... probably BECAUSE... of the prolific arsonist !!

Here - Foreclosure Central & Repossession Alley would stimulate anyone around here to take advantage of the situation and "add" to the group of fires to cover their crime

.

Los Angeles has 100,000 homeless people - more than half from foreclosures

.

and that does not take into account all of the people who moved in with their family or friends

.

Just down the street where I live here - 1 county over - every 2 out of 5 houses sits empty... from foreclosures...

interestingly - on Thursday - the LAPD arrested two other male arsonists who had set 4 other fires in the same area

SERIOUSLY YOU AIN'T KIDDING...

this morning "the arsonist" lit 16 fires in less than 3 hours

.

PROLIFIC !!!

.

I am waiting to see the LAPD/LAFD Press Conference now...

.

though the news said that since 3 AM this morning - when they caught this current guy - no additional fires have been lit !!!

hi ho hi ho - seems like the LA Police/Fire are making progress with the arsonist - yes !!!

 

in the main forums I posted the stages as it has been happening...

 

I HOPE - no more fires happen and they can pin all of them on this guy...  if he is guilty...

 

tomorrow morning may tell us more... if we have new fires tonight...

Morning gang.

'12 is definitely coming in with a bang!Four calls for us already(which is just about unheard of for us in that short period of time).

The white stuff has arrived!Along with wind chills that are right down there ,winter has finally arrived.

For those of you who live in Cali(and you know who you are;-)  ),what is going on with all these arsons in the last few days?Holy man,it's a wonder somebody hasn't gotten killed yet.Hope they catch the moron soon and take care of the problem.

Spending some time this afternoon with one of our old chiefs,who is also a charter member from 1952,and my dad.Chief is 85 now and dad is 67 and we see each other all the time ,but dad and I go out to see him at the first of the year every year for our nip of the bubbly to ring in the New Year.A 7 & 7 is the order of the day.

Stay safe out there.

And to everybody in the Northeast,grab an extra pair of woolies and a hot cup of joe.Winter has arrived!

Kevin - MY NEEDs are constant - and self-evident... your excuse holds NO WATER !!!

 

Wicked Evilicious - I found a way to trick my computer - hee hee... it is still on life support... I kept running into "do not enter" signs... but now I found another orifice to enter through ;-)

 

but I am plotting to buy a new computer shortly - as soon as I can get someone to buy my extra kidney... I am O Positive... if you have any friends who are looking to pay top dollar ;-)

Hope everyone has a Safe and Happy New Year...Mine started off with four EMS runs between 0150 and 0525...hell of a way to start off 2012...

I will try to stop in more often if I can find a few more opportunities to slip in here...hehehe...

Nice to see you are still around, Kevin, and it looks like Heather must've finally pulled the old computer off of life support and replaced it...

Happy New Year all.Started off with a bang.Two calls right off the bat this morning.Had a good crew though.Makes life a lot easier for me.

Lets hope we have a better start to 2012 than the end of 2011.Rough way to finish the year.

Spent part of tha afternoon today cleaning out the barn(shoveling manure).We don't have any cows right now and it just doesn't seem right.Chickens are alright but they don't have character like the bovines.
