Good Evening Everyone ! How are all of you doing - back in full swing after the holiday break?

 

Not So Mr Scrooge Kitty- Rescuer - you gotta post us cute pictures of your kitties now too :)

 

I have more stuff to email you about my specific shelters - but I was thinking you may want to work on a double-occupany cat shelter, if your two homeless kitties who already cuddle together on one blanket - maybe a 54 gallon tote with a 40 (ish) gal tote inside - then you could pack straw around the gaps between the totes and make tunnels entrances to get to the inner tote - and you could make the inner tote 1/2 straw bedding and 1/2 their current blanket

 

a trail of tuna or wet cat food works well to lure them into the shelter - i found the cats needed a few days to warm up to the shelters... then I added the door (bathmat flaps)

 

i was also thinking a leanto cover over the entrances so direct wind and snow can't blow in or drift over the doors

My heart is warmed & tickled to see that at 10 PM (& 6 AM) the homeless kitties in my neighborhood, the colony I manage, are in the Rubbermaid Tote insulated shelters that I made for them outdoors :)

.

All rooms are full, of their own accord - the most vulnerable kitties - full of the elderly, injured, and juvenile kitties :)

..

No vacancy, unless they double or triple cuddle to occupy...

..

... a good season's work : )

...exactly damn banks... and damn govt giving banks more money...

 

ugh... so annoyed by people's total lack of regard for the human life of others...

 

skid row in Los Angeles is about 50 blocks - and surrounded on each side by BILLION DOLLAR bldgs - fancy hotels and corporations literally 1-2 blocks away - in view of people dying on the streets :'-(

 

i bet if an arsonist was burning down the little cardboard chelters onf those sleeping on skid row - it would barely be a blip on the news even

We MUST be the only country in the world with so much empty housing and so much empty land and THESE PRECIOUS PEOPLE HAVE NO PLACE TO LIVE !!!!!!!!!!

amazing how Los Angeles can rally around 52 arson fire BUT CAN NOT FIGURE HOMELESS PEOPLE... homeless VETERAN, homeless men, women, TEENS & CHILDREN...

.

research shows that more than 25% of homeless people in los angeles are unaccompanied minors

.

research shows that less than 25% of homeless people use drugs

.

so I am so sick of the bs line people give - that THOSE PEOPLE are just drug addicts - PISSES ME OFFFFFFFFFFFFF

people LITERALLY sleeping on the concrete side-walk in 35 F degree weather - many with not even a coat on - no blankets no roof

.

i even checked one man to see if he had just died because as he lay in the middle of the side walk I could see that he just urinated as happens when you die... thank God upon going closer he responded to verbal stimuli... LAFD reports that daily people die sleeping literally on the street and every week they even deliver babies on the street - literally - and most will not let them transport to the hospital because they can not pay the hospital bill

my biggest bother (problem)

 

2 out of every 5 houses is EMPTY + 100,000 without a house

 

UPSETTING !!!!!!!!!!!

 

Christmas Day & Night I spent on Skid row in Los Angeles feeding homeless people - heartbreaking - toddlers walking through our food line at midnight even in their little footed pajamas :'-(
