The Backroom Crew

This is a place where we can sit down, put our feet up and chill. Where the Boys and Girls can just be themselves. The Back Room or what most firefighters call a ''day room or rec room'' is the social point of every firehouse.

it'll get easier. a lot to take in, all at once, and when the cherry gets popped, its almost a given to be in such a rush that you forget things, its ok, just think first, ask questions because you want to be informed, and not a casualty. always try to relax a little, I know its not easy, but deep breaths, and focus. LMAO you start running off half cocked, and Heather and I will be on our way to give you a good beating. LOL

I know, and that should be one of those "one-time only mistakes," definitely the type that changes how I don and check my gear!!

Ernie - usually someone is in CHARGE of ALL GEAR - and you have to check with them about all changes in need for gear. So if you have to decon yours - then you need to contact an officer - or whoever is in charge of gear and find out how they want you to proceed BEFORE you help yourself to additional gear options.

Ernie, do y'all have specific jobs/duties depending on the seat you're in when you're rolling in on the engine? or do they assign your duties as you get off the apparatus?

Ernie... something to think about...

basic plan on scene...

1) Selecting who to respond
2) Equipment placement
3) Scene safety
4) Protection of human life
5) Protection of other structures

etc. etc. etc.

do you see how there was actually a very elaborate plan with multiple phases in place

Heather, I left it go too long, kept trying to fix what he was screwing up, and I'll tell ya, if I knew then what I know now, I'd have dumped him when I was still in EMT class, cause thats where I met my best friend, LMAO and I married him 2 yrs ago this April....

Ernie, ya have to, or you're not going to do anyone any good, if you're down, a lot of people will tell you that the books and what you learn in class, are only guidelines, since its never textbook on scene, but that is something you gotta keep practicing, just like your knots

Izzy - I have a FF ex-husband too... some of your "issues" sound familiar... never made it to 13 years though... lol
