This is a place where we can sit down, put our feet up and chill. Where the Boys and Girls can just be themselves. The Back Room or what most firefighters call a ''day room or rec room'' is the social point of every firehouse.

Good Morning everyone , dropped in to say hi and made some coffee for all , Have a safe day
Well today was a very emotional day. Today was the funeral for Capt. Walt Sumner of the Cranesville Vol. Fire Dept. I belong to a neighboring dept. We are each others mutual aide. Although I've been in the dept a long time I didn't really know Walt. I guess I live in my own little world. The world lost a good man today.
Just swinging through to say hi. And tell everyone to make sure Heather behaves herself.

Always excited to see the KING - Mike :) XOXOXOXOX
.
Chris - Actually I totally understand what you mean... there is no way to put into words sometimes our inner needs... but I understand... I lost a lot of FFs in my time...
.
Jim - glad you are getting some down time :)
.
Ernie - sounds like you are getting some great experience... so did the patient make it? Sounds like it must have been quite harrowing for them? Yes, I always took my gear everywhere with me, ya just never know when the scene will change... or when a 2nd call will come in while you are at the 1st call... or when the caller or dispatcher totally got the details of the call wrong (such as 70 yr old female, not breathing, in her car at construction site - actually is - 7 yr old male, not breathing, DUE to being trapped in a crushed car on a construction site)... glad you are learning things... so excited to see the next generation of FF/EMS volunteers embracing their roles :) You Make Me Proud !!!
VALENTINE'S DAY IS COMING... AND YET I DO NOT SEE SEASONAL HANDLES.... hmmm.... must ramp up creativity...
Kyle I know a bunch of people have been so busy with other things - like being military deployed out of country, or away at work or university which has pulled them away from playing on FFN - like we use to more casually in the olden days... Quite frankly, even I use to spend 4-6 hours per day on this site - when I had no life - but life progresses - and I have to use my time more to make money - unlike back in the day, prior to the economic crisis...
.
I personally am working 1 f/t job, 1 p/t job, have 3 volunteer jobs, and go to school full-time ... so keeping up on my internet anything is NOT happening.... which reminds me... I better take a few minutes to pay some electronic bills...
.
I also know several people who use to be around had/have some significant illnesses... some of which are PTSD... which has pushed them to spend time away from this site while they try to reduce stressful things that spawn flashbacks...
.
I also know that FFN made a bunch of changes to FFN which a) pissed people off (FFs hate change - LOL); and b) made access and maneuverability much harder; and c) a lot of people were coming on this site being abusive or inappropriate; and d) censorship started being strong and pissing people off (FFs don't like to be told what to say or do - LOL)
.
so Kyle ... go invite them to return...
Yes, i too find FFN to be a fount of knowledge... and primarily use facebook for my family... because I really don't want everyone in electronic land in my close personal (facebook business)...
.
so I keep my FF/EMS business primarily here.... so my family doesn't have to hear gory stories, etc. etc.
Good Morning Everyone!!! I have been running around with a ton of homework due all at once lately. I am trying to jump a few major academic hurdles which is sucking up all of my time, energy, and ability to think.
I have been watching my homeless kitty colony more closely lately - especially at night - and while I originally thought there was 15 (then I took 4 to the animal shelter) leaving me with 11... now I see that there are about 20... ugh... apparently there is a theory about this very fact - they say taking the homeless kitties to shelters (where they are put down usually) is actually just a stop gap, since usually other homeless kitties will move into take over the territory... I guess this colony is sharing with their friends "come here for the best eats in town" ... which is fine I guess... I prefer them to be fed and healthy...
... and I "know" one of the teen cats is pregnant, and I was going to take her for a kitty abortion :'-( and to get fixed, before another batch of kittens is born and dies... but for the life of me... with all the winter fur on these little ones, I can't figure out which one is pregnant anymore... and I can't sit and monitor them all day to find this particular kitty... ugh...
