Hey Everyone:

Yes Sarah - that elaxation system works well in fire fighting too. When you are in a building and it is overwhelming or scary or you get lost or you are getting too excited and can not slow down you heart or breathing - learning to control your body - instead of letting your body control you will help you not suck down your air tank too fast and will help you think more clearly.

I have had to do it many times on scene - and many times in other settings in my life.

we had a chopper crash 2 yrs ago, trying to land on one of the hospitals.

I was about 7 with my first storm experience, i was running outside and my mom told me to come inside, I yelled no and ran into our lovely cornfield and well... I guess you get it.

sorry, Sarah, can't help ya there, I get wigged out with them too, got knocked on my butt during a storm, was just starting, I went to close a window, lightning sit the side of the building, right at the corner where I had my hands on the window, knocked me across the room, hair standing on end, then I couldnt walk. if ya find something that works, let me know, we get lightning, and I move into the center of a room, and try and keep myself busy. go figure, I'll run into burning buildings, but I dont do thunderstorms or spiders... LOL
