The Backroom Crew

This is a place where we can sit down, put our feet up and chill. Where the Boys and Girls can just be themselves. The Back Room or what most firefighters call a ''day room or rec room'' is the social point of every firehouse.

Glad fire school is over and you can have some free time.

.

Hope you enjoy your motorcycle -hmmm... I don't think we have seen pictures of your motorcycle - post us a picture.

.

and on another note - I was startled this week to see Tom Williams posting on facebook that he is retiring from the fire service suddenly after 21 years   ???    so strange... i wonder if anyone on here has spoken to him... last year this time he was all gunho FF - so much changed i this year... hmm... I bet he needs some support...

It took surgery to remove said object...

.

not sure if that meant cutting into the rectum - OOOUUUCCHHH!!!!

.

so I got MORE details - apparently the man walked into the ER saying he had a bomb...   upon examination - he had wires hanging out of his rear-end..... YES... he had inserted said object into his rectum...

.

after a psych talking to - they got him out of the bldg - onto a stretcher and x-rayed him in the parking lot with the bomb squad... who determined it was NOT an explosive device...

.

it is still to be determined IF HE KNEW it was not an explosive device.... it seems he was a known psych patient at this facility...

.

and yes, the campus is in chaos - with a heavy police presence still here a few days later - while they figure out how to improve some of the gaps in safety...

.

though I do think that the mutual-aid was AWESOME !

How have you been Jim?

on another super sad note...

.

I had to catch another emaciated homeless kitty on my campus... and due to kitty cancer, etc. the vet had to put her to sleep ;'-(

.

this is especially sad, since I found out that some of the staff have been intentionally abusing and neglecting this sweet little kitty...  I AM SO ANGRY....

..

and SO SAD ;'-(

now on a student note...

.

they seriously sucked at keeping us informed... in light of campus shootings and the like...

.

we have a system-wide alert system, which they regularly test for earthquake drills...  they send out emails, calls, and text message alerts to all the faculty, employees, and students...

.

now it appears that I got my 1st email alert about 1 hr and 42 minutes AFTER the "start" time of the incident... now mind you... the call was a BOMB ON CAMPUS... so for me that is equal (or worse) to shooter on campus... anyway...

.

my Primary Chosen alert notification is my cell phone - to which I received my 1st CELL alert 2 hrs 43 minutes AFTER the start of the incident....

.

hmm....

.

now ming you I SAW the bomb squad arrive... AND saw.. and UNDERSTAND... that many different Police-ing agencies on campus - so I KNEW something REAL... and real bad... was happening... BUT it took the campus HOURS to figure it out... and NOTIFY the 4000 students who go to school here... and the 13,000 faculty/employees.....     startling...

.

several of my friends who are employees - STILL - have not received notification to "evacuate the campus" YET - LOLOL..... perhaps that part of their system needs tweaking a BIT...

.

granted I KNOW they were busy with the 3000 patients/families, etc.  .... BUT....   come on now... I pay them $30,000++ a year - the least they can do is notify me within the FIRST HOUR
