i use to live in upstate ny - my parents both grew up there. my parents grew up in the clifton springs area.

we lived in King Ferry when i was 11-ish.

Ok question then - since I have been off 11 years - won't I have to start over with FF classes again?

you would be an asset to any dept, speaking of that if u ever move to upstate ny i know a lil dept that would try there damnest to get you to join lol

it was STUPID... they asked me to join a few times the next year - after I got my 3 friends to join (cause I am a awesome recruiter as an avid FF) - but by then i was in full swing with my time and attention elsewhere... then the years slip by.

I served 10 years on my FD in Vermont. One of the busiest in our State as a Senior FF and EMT - and I ran more than 90% of their calls - all calls. SO I WAS A GOLDEN ASSET - they missed it/ ME!

I was the youngest female FF in Vermont for years.

yes - i would still be ff/emt if it were not for few life-altering dynamics. if i lived near my old dept - I would rejoin in a heart-beat. It is tough to start on a new dept.

Since I have been off for 11 years - i would have to go to FF school again (probably) - UGH !

When I left my dept to start school - i moved across the country. I went to join the local dept near my school doing EMS ONLY - but they insisted I do fire and EMS and I did not think I could be a single foster parent, f/t college student and work AND DO FIRE AND EMS.... fires are way toooooo time consuming while single parenting... and missing many university classes.

I could not believe that the new dept would turn me down because I would not agree to 24/7/365 fire. STUPID !!!

I CAME - fully medical and fire trained already.

They should of have forethought to have me start EMS - knowing once a FF, always a FF, and after I settled into my new town - I PROBABLY would add FF tasks.

(i did still help their town - I got 3 of my friends to join them and become FF/EMS - LOLOLOLOL)
