The Backroom Crew

This is a place where we can sit down, put our feet up and chill. Where the Boys and Girls can just be themselves. The Back Room or what most firefighters call a ''day room or rec room'' is the social point of every firehouse.

Good Morning Crew, coffee is ready! Fair warning, the coffee is extra special this morning with an extra serious kick to it!

Easier day yesterday with not only about an inch of rain. Today and tomorrow are totally different stories. Up to 5 inches more is what they're calling for.

Hopes everyone has a good day. Morning Heather!!!! Hope your migraine gets better!

of course I am recording and watching the wedding - since it is a crazy early hour in my time zone...

dang - no brewfest for my though - but I do get to work at the court that morning and since not much social chatter happens there I won't have to listen to the "wedding haters" lol

Actually I am looking forward to the wedding... :) Yes I am one of those people.... The hubs is going to record it for me so that we can go to a brewfest. We both get what we want.... :)

G'Day everyone (Joey humor)

Woke up with a migraine... and drug companies that no longer make my migraine drug of choice :( rude

and the Californians KNOW the reason that 'tucky has no copper wire is because we stole it all from them to sell if for pocket cash (and I so wish I was kidding, but here people rip light fixtures right off houses/light poles/bldgs to pull out the copper connecting wiring to sell for scrap metal)

but a super good thing happened today related to my siter and I... skipping details... but it was equal to a unicorn arriving at my house (oh wait, that already happened when Tom arrived at my house last friday - so really I need to find more mythical creatures to reflect in my story)... so maybe it was equal to baby hippos dropping over my house (oh wait, those are getting cussed at this morning by 004)... so maybe equal to he mythical joey being for sale in the US...

p.s. unicorns are even better than expected... with even more magical powers...

and

Prince William & Kate are getting married on Friday - so the world will be in perfect balance (at least you would think by the news coverage - lol)

A little fun humor from the Bluegrass State ...

Copper Wire

After having dug to a depth of 10 feet last year, New York scientists found traces of copper wire dating back 100 years and came to the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone network more than 100 years ago.

Not to be outdone by the New Yorkers, a California archaeologist dug to a depth of 20 feet and shortly after, a story in the LA Times read: "California archaeologists' discovery of 200 year old copper wire, have concluded that their ancestors already had an advanced high-tech communications network a hundred years earlier than the New Yorkers."

One week later. A local newspaper in Kentucky reported the following: "After digging as deep as 30 feet in his pasture near Covington, KY, Bubba,
a self-taught archaeologist, reported that he found absolutely nothing. Bubba has therefore concluded that 300 years ago, Kentucky had already gone wireless."
