The Backroom Crew

This is a place where we can sit down, put our feet up and chill. Where the Boys and Girls can just be themselves. The Back Room or what most firefighters call a ''day room or rec room'' is the social point of every firehouse.

Whoo Hoo Kyle !!! Great pic. I can't wait to see the newest uniform pix, helmet and all!

And remember A LOT can be learned by WATCHING - so never under-estimate the power of observing. Think like watching a movie - you actually can see more of the scene than if you are confined in one task.

I think it was a good experience. The fire had cought some of the surrounding trees on fire and out biggest concern became safety, so while doing water shuttles I was able to learn a lot from the driver.

I will never forget my first call....

It was a large grassfire and I was on the tender. The driver told me that I was to remain in the cab until he said it was OK for me to get out. (Keep in mind it was pushing 100 and very dry). I sat there, and sat there, and sat there, finally he was walking by and I asked him if I could get out now. He totally forgot about me. I ended up learning a lot that day. This was my first week after turning in my paperwork so I was not even in academy yet nor did I have my first drill.
