Now begins the request for NC reciprocity....while I wait for NC-OEMS to honor my CT/National Registry EMT-B. So who's bright idea was it for my to request military transfer from CT to NC anywho....LOL. Awe I just love a challenge. :0)

man all we have had is nothing but ems for the past 2 weeks. althought last week one of the ems calls was fun. we were at training with another dept when a call came in for a man with back injury after he fell throught a deck. well since it was ems chief told me, an emt and 2 probies to go in our rescue truck. get there and its a 400lbs guy till struck in the porch. glad we had our rescue and not ems truck. lets just say i had to do a little extrication to get this guy out, and of course im the only one that can operate the saw (wouldent let the probies do it since they only been on 3 weeks, and my emt was tied up doing pt care) was deff one of them calls i will not be forgetting anytime soon

this is a sort of catch up post for everyone. flee, don't worry about not having what you need. you'll get it. i didn't get my pager until my hepatitis b shots and physical were done. i think it took 3 months to get my gear. lol, i have worn it twice. i have a medical jumpsuit and only need it for mva's which we don't have all that often. just go to drills, learn what you can, and get to know you department mates. lol, ask a lot of dumb questions. it gets people talking and you do learn something. it takes a bit to get accepted into a new department but you'll get there. a lot of times gear has to be ordered so it takes a little bit. no one is talking about you for not making calls if you don't have a pager. if you hear sirens call dispatch to find out what's going on. a member of our department passed away last year. it wasn't so bad for me since i had never met him but it was rough for other members. our chief just beat cancer and i'm happy about that. he's a great guy. i've missed way too many drills lately and i'm making it a poit to go this week because it's equipment checks. not too many people besides me do checks on the rescue truck so i like to be there for that. hate to go to a call and find out we don't have what we need. take care everyone and stay safe where ever you are.

felicia, i should know in 4-6 weeks. i know what you mean about the people that dont try before they pry, i made a capt from another dept look stupud when he was hollarin "i need someone to force the door" and i looked at him and just turned the knob and guess what, that door opened.

Wow Justin, the day is long.....lol. I didn't conncet that your testing were EMS related......and here my hair is colored blonde for a reason....smiles. That's class it with the O2 station...smiles. It's like with forcable entry - try before you pry. You be supprised how bad asses want-to-be's will just go and distry property or worse and end up looking stupid when thier buddy just looks and twist the handle. LOL
How soon will you know about your written?
I have been waiting for my since the first week of Feb. (one lady in all of CT to grade, post and mail status/certs - piss her off and the whole state is screwed)

Cheif Russell,
LOL...thanks. I needed that. Yes, my chief knows. We have talked about gear and pagers. They are on order. I guess, I fear what the members are "whispering" (if at all) about why I am not responding to calls. I would gladly! Without a pager toning me out, I have to rely on my scanner --- I need tolearn what our station tones are so that I can reconginze them when called. PPL talk, they just need wait until they have facts before judging someone....I'm strong - will get through this....and kick ass doing it...LOL
