Chief - Your right I hope that happens sooner then later although it doesn't allow you to leave work to go to a call. I think they need to revise it and add that it. A minor call is one thing but a major fire or accident is a differnt story especially when you know the department is going to need all the additional help they can get, even with members coming from work.

Maria - lol I could see you doing that, the only problem with having it with me and on all day is that it just makes me want to leave when I can't.

To bad your pager didnt have a viberating option my new one I just got viberates like a cell phone when we get sent out to call, then the call gets saved in the repeter and I just play it back after a few mins to see whats going on.

Maria I'm also spoiled that I get to have my pager on well I work and I also have a scanner at my desk because I do the traffic so I need to be able to hear whats going on.

Maria and Matt I don't think they would let me out of the office for that either, and I'm quite sure if the office was even on fire they would make me stay inside.

Maria not to mention my co-workers keep asking me...Why the hell are you all wound up today..So what you missed a fire...the point is I know I'm going to miss lots of stuff and never going to be able to make every call there is.

But when it comes to something like this I wish my boss's would be less strict and let me go. Although there wasn't anything I was going to be able to do as I work 20 mins away but even just sitting at the station helping the MA crew that was there would have been great.

I understand its volunteer and I'm not getting paid for it but the point is I love what I get to do on the outside and getting to help people is important to me.

Hope all is well my deptment is out at a structure fire and I'm stuck at the office going crazy. My boss is a idiot and won't let me leave he keeps telling me how is it the companies problem what you do on the outside to help people...idiot.
