The Backroom Crew

This is a place where we can sit down, put our feet up and chill. Where the Boys and Girls can just be themselves. The Back Room or what most firefighters call a ''day room or rec room'' is the social point of every firehouse.

Get a wrinkle free shirt...always works. Easier to maintain.

i only iron for weddings and funerals - i like to stick it in the dryer for a few minutes - then shake it out and wear it ;-)

but then again you probably work for one of those "no subtle wrinkle" places. hee hee

Several times in court people get a bill from the garage for let's say $12,000 when in fact their vehicle is only worth $7000. So you see the dilemma.

By law the garage must give you an accurate quote IN ADVANCE to diagnose and repair it... and if they find that they will go over the initial quote they must call you and get confirmation to continue with the repairs beyond the quote. The garage can not trust your verbal word as reported from another garage as to the diagnosis, they are required to complete their own diagnosis, since they are liable for ALL work and ALL decisions done at their shop.

Right now I am having a personal fight with 2 garages over an oil leak in my car - i believe (KNOW) the one garage created the oil leak ! That is a WTF ???

It's kind of an oddball diesel engine.I called several diesel shops and they all said yep,we are sure it's that part and no,we don't work on those.Another lesson to tuck away in the memory bank.Get something with a very common powerplant in it.Hoping we get it back today and not next week.

Glad you are safe Chris.

Yes, I mediate at civil court - and LOTS of people sue garages for DOING the work without approval, when in fact they just wanted the problem DIAGNOSED. The garage ALWAYS loses the court case. So I understand the garages 2 phase process... except they were stupid and should have gotten approval for both diagnosis and repair when the truck was dropped off - since you ordered the part too!!! But in court, often people do the repair and then charge let's say $2000, when a person said if I knew it was going to cost that much I would have NOT REPAIRED it.

You would have thought since it was a fire truck they would have expedited this process on the first day the truck was dropped off...

BUT obviously these people have been sued before and they are now gun shy...
