That makes it tempting Tom. It's been 7 or 8 years since we were there. We should have spent more time in the Smokies, but the kids were young so we did a lot of the touristy things and we went to the Kentucky Horse Park on the way back home. My daughter is a HUGE horse lover.
But that is definitely one of the places I would go back and see and skip the tourist crap.

Mark, they redid the road in Cades Cove and it's so much better now. Saw a few deer this last time I was down but no bears this time. Heard a report that nuts & berries were real pleantiful & they were staying up in the woods.

Smokies are beautiful in their own way, just as the Rockies are.
One of the best vacation moments I've had was riding bikes through Cades Cove on a cool Saturday AM. Saw more deer than I could count and my daughter and I saw a black bear.
I'm with ya Patti, give me mountains and I'm a happy person.

Why was I thinking Rockies??? lol.... I want the Smokies as well... Shoot take me to any mountain range and I will be about as happy as well.... I won't repeat what my co-worker says but it is pretty darn happy... :)
