This is a place where we can sit down, put our feet up and chill. Where the Boys and Girls can just be themselves. The Back Room or what most firefighters call a ''day room or rec room'' is the social point of every firehouse.

Nyssa - Patti and Mike make a good point. And it seems like this is not a random guy friend - this is one of your closest guy friends - so there ya go... if you can stand him not talking... another option... just ask him... he sounds like the type of guy that would tell you what he is thinking...

p.s. men do not like to admit embarrassment... or that we women hurt them... even by accident... so maybe don't make him admit that...

LOL - Nyssa - case in point - look at how many words Chief Mike used to make his point compared to mine... hee hee

If he is talking with you, then I am sure he has forgiven you. I do think in my opinion that it would be best if you two sat down and just cleared the air, start fresh.

Nyssa - you can talk to us about anything...

My thoughts on forgiveness. You are only responsible for you. You can not make your actions as a lady contingent upon another. You woman-up and own-up if you made a mistake admit and apologize and move on - no matter how long it takes your friend to forgive you. If you took care of things on your end, then let it be. When he wants to talk to you about it - he will.

Guys tend to speak more with actions than words... and it sounds like by his actions he is either working through it or over it already SINCE he is talking to you and is moving forward... nothing else needs to be said (probably in his mind).

We women tend to dramatize certain things which men don't... pushing him to talk about it may just add him stress.... remember trust your gut...

Men are much more simplistic than we women. They also forgive much more quickly than we women and they don't feel the need to verbally process it - like we women commonly do.

Men enjoy appreciation and admiration. If you express appreciation for his friendship, that make bring the closure that you need - without having to discuss it in detail.

I don't know what's worse me feeling bad or him acting as if nothing happened at all. I mean it was just words misunderstood but I don't want him to hold that against me for the rest of our lives. Idk I'm probably making more of a fuss over it than what it really is.

I mean he is talking to me and right now we are having an actual conversation but I don't know if I should ask if he has gotten over it and forgiven me. I don't want to push it but I won't be able to forgive myself until I know that he has forgiven me. It was a mistake but he took it personally. I just want to know.

Hey Nyssa.... Don't worry about it. Families stick together through good and bad. If this person is truly your friend and wants to be your friend you guys will figure it out.
