oh yes - I grew up on a farm - so YES ! Chief Chris - GREAT option...
yes - hay, mucking stalls, milking cows / goats, cleaning out the chicken coops, the endless barn work... and yup - a types of manure FUN (personal experience)

Asst. Chief for another year.Pretty good gig actually.Good situation in that all 3 Chiefs get along well .Have had it the other way a couple times and that is no fun.

Howdy all.Between deer season and a couple other issues haven't been on much.Looks like a lot going on.About 20 here today with just a shot of snow.Spent all day out yesterday rerouting traffic for jacknifed tractor-trailers.Better today.Might actually get to go look for a deer for an hour or so before dark tonight.
Monthly meeting last night and elections are over for another year so back to the business of helping run the department.Hate the vollytic portion of the program.
If you are looking for constuctive work for kids,let them go to a farm for a while.Make hay,combine grain,shovel manure,milk cows,shovel grain,etc....The list is neverending.(Personal experience)

I agree, but now they have to deal with parents who think that if their children do anything for a punishment it is cruel and unusual.

Afternoon All,
Sun is out but still on the chilly side here. Hey Raplh, just looked at the weather models again for this weekend and they have now moved the track further south down into the TN area which moves the heavier snow line further south now. Latest talk here is it's still up in the air...LOL. They are saying that if stronger storms develop south of the front that will rob the moisture tracking up into KY and drop our snow amounts. I just love the days before a big storm!
