The Backroom Crew

This is a place where we can sit down, put our feet up and chill. Where the Boys and Girls can just be themselves. The Back Room or what most firefighters call a ''day room or rec room'' is the social point of every firehouse.

i agree tom. i would be so happy if no one else had to stand in the cold and watch everything they own go up in flames. i got my furnace cleaned back in october so that's all set. i don't need it screwing up in february. when the power faded here during the last blizzard i turned the heat way down so it wouldn't go on until we were at full power again. as it was i had to push the reset button. people just need to think.

Yes Tom you are correct. I really wish I could say that this surprises me, but now the only thing that surprises me is the spider that hides in my shower or kitchen sink.

After a lot of the stuff I've seen Laurie, it's my conclusion that people just don't think about simple things like maintenance until it's too late.

Patti....just remember, Can't Fix Stupid!

that makes sense tom. our department has a wood stove inspection program so owners can make sure they are safe and ok to use but i don't think a lot of people know about it. we had a huge fire last week to the point where the house was knocked down the next day. luckily everyone was safe.

I would say a lack of maintenance and upkeep Laurie. Installation would play a role also I think.

what is the deal with wood stoves? we've had so many fires in the area caused by wood stoves. i don't have one and don't want one. are people just using them wrong or installing them wrong?
