I found "keep it up and you can be spouting your mean words from the back of a police car"  is a good phrase to use.... LOL.... when the masses get to running their mouths

 

and

 

"if you continue to interfere with the management of this emergency scene, then I will have to bring the police over so they can 'help you' with your self-restraint"

 

at least 10 times I had the police physically restrain the whiners... and at least 10 times the police had them "watch" from the back of the police car... to keep them the hell out of our way...

Good Morning all !!!  Oh come on Patti - dont be shy... you can find a creative way to express it to me... (us)   :)

 

I foster parented for 7 years. One little boy (8 yrs old) who lived with me started disliking boundaries so he started calling me B*tch... to which I started saying you need to say that with proper respect for your elders so you can call me Ms. or Auntie or Mama (whatever term he felt comfortable with)... so then he started calling me Mama B*tch.... then my best-friend started getting annoyed that I was not punishing the kid (trust me, he had bigger problems like self-harming and assaulting people hourly, so name calling was not even on the radar yet)... so my best friend challenged him that "he was new at my house" and really I was a "Mega-B*tch" and he must really only be seeing my "nice side."   LOLOL

 

So we all started calling me "Mama Mega B*tch" at my house... started taking all the power out of it when everyone at my house started using that term... and got all my friends and family to call me that everywhere we went...

 

This little one liked to tantrum in public - LARGE and a LOT ! So he would scream this at me in public...

 

SOOOOO  I started introducing myself that way to people "Hi, I am Mama Mega B*tch, nice to meet you!"  (like when the police came over to me to find out why the child is screaming bloody murder in the store parking lot)   ROTFLMAO

 

This only happened 3 times and he BEGGGGGED me to NEVER do that again... LOL.... who knew he would find my embrace of that term and public use of the term - embarrassing - LOLOLOL

 

took all the wind out of his sails - it was hysterical !!

 

so then I added "embarrasment" as a discipline tool in my toolbox of parenting tools - LOLOL

 

My philosophy - "I give you an inch, you take a mile... I TAKE 20 MILES"   LOLOLOLOLOL   works everytime...

 

that little one NEVER called me another name - self-imposed boundary - LOLOLOL

 

and one day he was screaming and crying on the grocery store floor - so I laid on the floor next to him and screamed and cried louder...   LOLOLOL.... it worked... everytime he started acting up at the store in the future, I would just sit on the floor - which was a signal to him that I was "exercising my 20 miles" unless he reined himself in....   it worked... and he would beg me "mama get off the floor, PLEEESSE DON'T TANTRUM, you are so embarrasing, I will behave myself  PLLEEZZEEE...." 

 

Good times - so funny... those memories are priceless !!!

I should change my name to the one that the civilian kept calling me as we were working to put out the fire on his Grandmothers house....  Hmmmm...  Nope not for mixed or un-mixed company.....  All because I was asked to be safety officer and to help keep the civi's back....
