What is the differance of a tanker and a tender? We have that discussion all the time.

tankers have wings and you fly them and tenders are earth bound most of the time and you drive them.
VERY GOOD.

tankers are airplanes while tenders are road vehicles. however if you are applying fore a federal grant and they ask for your water source the only thing they have on there is tanker
I prefer Chief Brunacini's interpretation. There are far more trucks with tanks than there are aircraft. Instead of changing the road vehicle name, call the one's that fly; "BADLOW, Big Aircraft Dropping Lots Of Water."
I like BADLOW, Our Tankers are and Always have been Trucks.

Up here, if you call for a tanker, you better clear the drop zone. Tenders are earthbound.
