you know i live out in a rural area and im all for heavey rescues but what about if they have to go back into a remote location such as a farming accident there is no well in hell we can get those big rigs into the middle of corn feids and on those back country dirt roads, so what im tryin to say and ask should rural fire departments have heavy rescues or should they have to a medium to light rescue?

we use a 2001 Pierce for our rescue truck with a set of tools on a elctric pump and another set on a portable power unit.

Guys, I need help we have a new rescue truck/Trailer and we were wanting to look at different trucks to see what type of decals/lettering you have on your Rescue's. As you can see below our Heavy mover doesn't have much but our smaller unit doesn't have anything yet. We are looking for ideas! So please lets see some pics of some Squads, Rescues and FEMA/USAR units thanks.

By the way the wrecker is a bad looking machine. I think I will put in a request to get one next year!

Hello Marc The answer is no. At least were I'm from (St.Louis area). First a Heavy rescue in our area would be a large Rescue truck like a walk through Rescue. A USAR unit is like a Tractor drawn Hackney trailer. It Just so happens Our Department is on The UASI St.Louis Metro USAR Strike team 5. typically the Rescues carry General rescue equipment from light to heavy duty. Our Heavy mover carries larger items such as a Stanley tool. This machine is on tracks used to cut Concrete. The Heavy mover also has a very large cascade system for Confined space etc. Large Generator and Diamond cutting saws and so much more. I know heavy rescues carry quite a bit but the Heavy movers carry even more. Our Heavy mover is designed for large scale building collapse rescue, High angle Trench rescue etc. I hope I haven't confused you but this is the best way for me to describe it. This is a picture of our Heavy mover.

Hey gang we operate two heavy duty Rescue Engines we love the concept and they work well!

I personallhy like walk ins instead of the rescue engine for the simple fact alot of rescue engines have short hosebeds and they're are set higher in the truck and its harder for me to lay hose on those types of engines.
