Good morning! Encouragement in times of trouble is hard to find in the natural. The world seeks to retaliate and to get even. We tend to put up shields that keep everyone and sometimes God out. Why do we do that? Pain. We fear getting hurt. We don't like getting told off or belittled. Sometimes we seek God and yet we are fearful of what the answer may be. "If I follow God I may have to go to Timbuktu". Well, your might but you might not. Our purpose is to serve God and it may include some unsavory places and endurance through some painful things. It may also be a place or an area you never dreamt of. Mothers of many children have a ministry at home like my Mom of 8 did. They must teach by example and by the Bible all the ways of the Lord. That means they have to get the knowledge necessary to achieve this goal. Fathers have a part in that also. Working people have a ministry at the work place. It may not not be done by the spoken word by by how we act and react to the daily events and conversations. All of us need solitude at some point to seek God's face so we are equipped to stand when in the natural we want to run. All is not doom and gloom. We are not the first and last to live this life and go through whatever we go through. We have a sovereign Lord who cares about all of us. We have a God who calls sin sin and doesn't tell you or anyone else they are or have done anything too bad for his love and grace. Be of good cheer knowing that you are saved and Jesus loves you as much as anybody else. Here's some encouragement;

Ps 130:5-6
I wait for the LORD, my soul does wait,And in His word do I hope. My soul waits for the Lord More than the watchmen for the morning; Indeed, more than the watchmen for the morning.
NAS

Ps 62:5-8
Find rest, O my soul, in God alone;my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation;he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God;he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, O people;pour out your hearts to him,for God is our refuge.
NIV

Ps 31:24
Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD.
NIV

Eph 6:10-13
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
NIV

Isa 40:31
but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles;they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
NIV

Isa 33:2
O LORD, be gracious to us;we long for you.Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress.
NIV

We have comfort in times of woe. We are loved always. Things are worse when we forget that our Lord is standing with us. Ask in prayer for direction and hand the steering wheel to the pilot, you be the co-pilot.
Remember Turley's friends family, Joe Boyland went to be with the Lord this week....

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your encouragement and thank you for reassuring us you care. Lord lead and teach us where we are to go. Move us in the direction that is your way. Lord help us have a servants heart so we recognise needs and are wise enough o respond appropriately. Lord we lift those who's hearts are heavy. Heal and bless them in Jesus name, amen

Good morning! How are we faithing? This week is half over and time seems to be flying! Good weather, birds singing, critters active, spring!
Dreamt about things that have to do with a very moving movie we watched last night. Schindler's List. If you haven't seen it, do so. If you have, watch it again. We watch this man go from an opportunist to a compassionate man once he sees truth. All of the human frailties and strengths are present as well as good and evil. Of course the Holocaust is extremes of these attributes but never the less it is what it is. How could one human do those things to another? The ones shot were probably better off in one sense as they didn't have to endure anymore, but the ones left were gripped with a fear we'll never know. Those survivors were never the same.
How do we treat others? Do we belittle and say things that stay with others and cause them to be bitter? Please follow the comparison here because something flip said can be everlasting to someone else. Speaking horrible things upon others is the same attitude those men in that movie had. They just acted out those ideas. Indiscriminate killings, beatings, rape, etc. Point is that we must control our tongues and must prepare our minds for battle with the dark forces around. We must be careful not to fall prey to ungodly thinking. Compare everything with the Word. Pray without ceasing. Treat everyone how you want to be treated. These are staples of true Christian attitudes. Jesus promised the Holy Spirit would dwell in us when we accepted his gift of salvation therefore do not squash that spirit by ignoring him when he prompts your behavior.

Rom 13:11-14:1
And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
NIV

Rom 14:1-4
Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters. One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. The man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him. Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.
NIV

James 4:11-12
Brothers, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against his brother or judges him speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it. There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you-who are you to judge your neighbor?
NIV

Just like we have talked about before, discernment is one thing, judging another. Keep those separate and seek Godly wisdom in that discernment.

Remember Megan and Jeneane...David and Nicole Ingle...

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your grace and love that saves even me. Lord help us seek your wisdom in everything we do. Lord help us see right from wrong and help us act in a manner that doesn't hurt others. Lord shine through us for others to see. Lord we lift those in emotional pain today, comfort them. Lord help those who are thinking wrong to recognise your truths and to repent and come to you for you are the only true strength and love on earth, in Jesus name,Amen

Good morning! How are we, well, faithing? How do you get through each day? What do you ingest? The Word intake is important for our well being. Hearing it, seeing it, acting according to it. Lets look at daily intake. Music i.e. radio is one of most peoples huge amount of intake. When you listen to music today, pay attention to what you are feeding your mind. By no means am I judging, I am trying to make you pay attention because even background radio is entering our minds. I've often wondered why most music is about love and sex. Then its money and "look at me". Is that all there is to sing about? What do our kids hear over and over? Aren't there other things worth singing about? What do you sing about? I grew up listening to drug, love and car songs and not much has changed. The genre doesn't even matter either. Talk radio; pick and devour all the time and if not that, sex and drug talk. Billboards; partying and sex appeal. Point to all of this is a balance of things takes effort on our part to keep from becoming exactly what we hear and see. TV, oh boy, need we discuss that? Is this good for me? Ask that about everything, just because it is pleasant doesn't mean it is good for you. Heck man, I'm guilty of watching mindless drivel. I love rock n' roll. I love blues. I also love christian music and Andy Griffith. Look here;

Rom 15:7-11
Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God's truth, to confirm the promises made to the patriarchs so that the Gentiles may glorify God for his mercy, as it is written:
"Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles; I will sing hymns to your name."
Again, it says,
"Rejoice, O Gentiles, with his people."
And again,
"Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles, and sing praises to him, all you peoples."
NIV

Gal 5:25-26
If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. Let us not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another.
NAS

Here's some truth to think about;

Rom 7:14-20
For we know that the Law is spiritual; but I am of flesh, sold into bondage to sin. For that which I am doing, I do not understand; for I am not practicing what I would like to do, but I am doing the very thing I hate. But if I do the very thing I do not wish to do, I agree with the Law, confessing that it is good. So now, no longer am I the one doing it, but sin which indwells me. For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the wishing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not. For the good that I wish, I do not do; but I practice the very evil that I do not wish. But if I am doing the very thing I do not wish, I am no longer the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me.
NAS

Col 3:15-17
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
NIV

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your Word that grounds us and shows us what is important. Lord help us sift through all the stuff that hinders our walk with you. Lord help us keep holy as you have made us holy with the grace of salvation. Thank you for loving us even when we don't love ourselves, in Jesus name, Amen

Good morning! How are we faithing? People do things to us. Some on purpose, some not. Some things are malicious and some are innocent. How do we respond? The Word tells us not to judge others. Lets dive into this a little deeper. We should not judge with malice. We should not wish a crap storm on them. What "not judging" in this context refers to is our attitude to the wrong doing person. We should discern wrongs and act accordingly. What we should not do is with ire blast that person. We're not talking about an Uzi toting madman in the bank here but the fiery darts that fly our way many times in life. Some one cuts you off in traffic we don't wish them eternal damnation but we can discern danger right? A coworker that is mean and spiteful should be dealt with in love, prayed for etc. but if he shows up going postal we must "judge" and act accordingly. There are tons of reasons, not excuses, why people do the things they do and our responses directly reflects Jesus love in our lives. Yes we all get ticked and respond in kind but quick apologies and repentance from those things are prudent. We do not have the right to give what we get. We do have the gift of love from our savior that we can pass on. A friend of mine was refused a job because of physical attributes and it ticked me off. Discernment that that employer is a moron is accurate but prayer for his coming to the Lord and realizing the folly of that type of thinking is the proper response. Can we do that? Yes but maybe not that day. That my friends is where we can miss it. We need to be quick to pray for someone like that and not spit in their face. As we become more in tune with the grace of Jesus and the unconditional love for someone like us, we can begin to see past the outside and see the hurt in the heart of the offender. I know, some people are just wicked but we don't judge, we discern.

2 Cor 5:16-21
So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
NIV

Col 3:12-14
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
NIV

John 7:24
Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
KJV

Remember Jennifer Penns family...

Heavenly Father,
Lord, thank you for forgiving us all. Lord we want to be a loving, discerning non wicked lot and we need help. Jesus we ask you walk with us and prompt wise reactions to everything we face. Lord we are weak and act worldly when we are threatened sometimes and we want to act correctly. Open our eyes so we can see the correct course of action. Lord bless our children of all ages and help them see you. Lord we lift those up who are lost. Lord, comfort the Penn family in these days of mourning...in Jesus name, Amen

Good morning! How are we faithing? A whole lot of things to think about today. We had a good time in Sunday school yesterday. The kids were so in tune and listening, asking questions and learning about the important things in this life. I saw the things that were distractions for these kids but us teaching fundamentals about this life in Jesus is important so they make good choices and don't goof up like I did. We all wrestle with things in this life that can lead us to dismay and even to sickness because we stress so much about tomorrow. Here's the point, why would we heap tomorrows stress on today's? Deal with tomorrows stress tomorrow after today's stress is over. Now don't get me wrong here, we do plan for future things and preparing for events and stuff is normal and prudent but fretting and making oneself sick over something that hasn't even occurred yet is, well, futile. Who does it benefit? Who does it hinder? Look and these and think;

1 Peter 5:8-9
Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
NIV

Rom 3:19-26
Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.
But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished- he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
NIV

Rom 8:34-39
Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died-more than that, who was raised to life-is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written:
"For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
NIV

Be steadfast daily. Stop beating yourself up and stop worrying about something that ain't even here yet! Jesus promises to be with us through everything so even if the outcome of things is scary, fear isn't an option...prayer and confidence is.
Remember Debbie...remember Kathy...remember each other...

Heavenly Father,
Lord, thank you for the peace and confidence your Word provides. Lord we try not to fret and worry and have immense trouble maintaining it. Lord help us see you in every event so we can keep your image in the eyes of our hearts. We lift those in need to you, heal them and help us see where you want us to help, in Jesus name, Amen

Good morning! How are we faithing? With this train our mind conversation were having this week, let me ask some questions. Do you think you must be a better person to accept the gift of salvation? Do you think that you have to improve in order to receive and be worthy of redemption? Do you think you will loose that redemption if YOU don't get better? Wrong, wrong, wrong! You get better when you concentrate on Jesus and the Word. You can't be good enough or get good enough to be worthy, only his grace makes us worthy so stop striving for perfection and whoopin your own tail when you fail. This whole thing isn't about anything you can do or not do. The reaction to this faith is you improve not the other way around. Do you arrive at work then walk? Do you go outside then open the front door? Change your thinking from "I failed therefore I am no good" to "I'll get better because I failed and am redeemed!" Oh and no, you cannot loose your salvation because you don't improve, you improve because you can't loose your salvation. Adversity becomes lessons that lead to improvement. Gee whiz, none of us walked the first time we tried, it was a process and we had to grow muscles to achieve that.

Matt 11:28-30
"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. "Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls. "For My yoke is easy, and My load is light." NAS

1 John 5:3-5
This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
NIV

Gal 5:1
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
NIV

Mic 6:8
He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
NIV

Phil 4:13
I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
NIV

2 Cor 4:17-18
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
NIV

John 16:33
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
NIV

remember what Jesus said;

John 10:29-30
My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. I and the Father are one."
NIV

Remember Kathy...remember our troops...

Heavenly Father,
Don't let the lie of being good enough get in our brains. Lord if any one of us thinks this, show us and convince us of the truth. Lord we lift those who are having a hard time with life. Raise their spirits and let them see you. Lord help those who are overwhelmed in this life. We love and adore you Lord and ask for revival, wisdom and peace in our lives. Lord heal Kathy! Lord protect the troops and help them show your wisdom and mercy on the battlefield, in Jesus name, amen

Good morning! How are we faithing today? We have to train/change our mindset by reading the Word. We have to stand on the promises Jesus gave us. We have to remember those promises with confidence that they are applicable to our lives. Are any of us worthy? Are any of us good enough? The answers to those is no therefore; by grace we are saved and by grace we have confidence to approach God. By his love he gave us his son so we didn't have to pay for all those inner things that condemn us. All the things we do and all the things we think about doing. By Jesus' grace and love for us we are not condemned anymore by our actions. We either believe and accept the gift of redemption by his blood shed for us, or we don't. So with a choice like that, why do we get pessimistic about life? Why do we only see doom and gloom? Why would we go through life down in the dumps? Here's what we get out of the choice to believe; grace and forgiveness, the right to make our voice heard by the one who created everything, an E ticket to paradise, confidence that regardless of the circumstances we will come out the other side, he loves us more than we love anyone on earth and I love my kids in such an indescribable way I am in awe that he loves us more...

Heb 4:14-16
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are-yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
NIV

Heb 10:19-25
Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
NIV

Heb 10:35-37
So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.
NIV

Heb 13:5-6
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,
"Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."
So we say with confidence,
"The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"
NIV

1 John 4:16-18
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
NIV

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for you love and grace. Lord we ask for courage and a settling confidence in your Word. Lord we know we are weak and struggle with fleshly stuff so we ask for strength and wisdom to deal with all we face. Lord we ask you calm us and show us the true things happening in every situation we encounter. Lord help us be strong in your love and confident in you protection. Guard the kids from all the junk in this world, in Jesus name, Amen

Good morning! How are we faithing? Boy do I have trouble squashing the lusts of the flesh! How about you? Hot rods, guitars, booze, food, whatever it is it is a tough chore to keep those desires in check. It's way to easy to give into our desires and some of them are quite consuming. Think about what you think about all the time, is it proper? Is it good to think on those things? Is it in line with the Word's teaching? Be honest with yourself with out being self condemning, you know if it is right or not. We are saved be grace. Grace understands our failings and loves us and offers us redemption regardless.

Titus 2:11-14
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope-the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
NIV

Those are reassuring words when we have trouble getting past fleshly lusts. Confess, repent, discard or prioritize, what ever is prudent these things we deal with every day. You ain't alone and we can lift each other up to the Father. Grace has covered all this things we do so stop beating yourself up and move on. When these things come up again remember we have the right to go to the Father and repent. For me that happens alot...geech...

Titus 3:3-7
At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.
NIV

Reassuring no? Kinda lets us know that we all endure the same junk and have the same access to Jesus. Cool man because I fail regularly.

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your grace that saves up from ourselves. Lord help us recognise when we drop the ball and help us repent quickly. Lord you are so great and loving I don't understand how or why you are but am sure glad you do! Father, help us please you and spread your love and grace. Help us be fearless in this! in Jesus name, Amen

Good morning! As followers of Jesus do we conduct ourselves in a holy manner to dissuade others from evil or for our own glory? Do we act holy and point fingers at others for our own edification? Do we cry and moan about the wrongs done or how bad we hate life or our lot in it? What attitude do you have? Things are not perfect. Things do happen. We fail, others fail. Crap storms come our way so how do we react? Look, I know sometimes it's hard out there but we need to keep telling ourself that everything is temporary and Jesus has overcome all of this. We as Christians are the light of the world and if we complain, give up, lose our encouragment or give in to the worlds way of thinking we become dormant. Yes we are saved and get through the gates of heaven but how many don't because we were to concerned with ourselves to see our friend miss Jesus? This is not meant to condemn or smack you but to encourage you to lift your eyes and your heart to what matters. Our job, physical well being, finances, car, may all suck but like the old adage, we came here with nothing but skin and we'll leave the same way. Take heart fellow believers, you ain't alone! Don't get caught up in wallowing in self pity. Drop your head,(unless you are driving) and admit to God you are dropping it and need help! Talk to him and ask him for help! Look at these and use them as encouragement for your day!

Phil 1:27
Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.
NIV

Phil 2:14-16
Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe
NIV

Phil 1:9-11
And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ-to the glory and praise of God. NIV

As we learn to rise above, even if just for a look, to see the goal which is Jesus and eternity with him, we can after looking come back down and deal with whatever situation we face. When it's hard we can remember that glance and press on knowing we are forgiven and have that life that overcomes this world. Encourage youself every day with these thoughts because we are his and noone or no thing can defeat us.

Heavenly Father,
Lord thank you for your love and grace that saves a bumbling boob like me. Forgive us when we goof up and help us be quick to repent and quick to see your grace and love. Lord help us not get downtrodden but let us see the goal and know we are secure thus we have the strength to cary on. Lord we ask you be with those who are weak and need support. Help us not discourage or add to anyones pain, in Jesus name, Amen
