Good morning! How are we faithing? Look at this;

Luke 21:1-4
And He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury. And He saw a certain poor widow putting in two small copper coins. And He said, "Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all of them; for they all out of their surplus put into the offering; but she out of her poverty put in all that she had to live on."
NAS

Is this telling us to give all our money to the church? Is this even about money? This is about the heart. The rich guy is holding on tight fisted to his possessions while that poor woman is willing to give all for God. The attitude the poor woman has is one of total trust, faith and devotion to the creator and savior while the rich guys eyes are shifted from the things of God to the world. We all get caught up in this kind of thing, I know I have and do. The flesh is really hard to conquer but with our steadfastness to reading the Word daily we can recognise things before they get out of hand and then correct them. Old habits and ideas are very hard to dismiss or correct if we don't seek the source of all truth. You think about and pray about this today. Look at how you react and act in situations and make adjustments accordingly.

Remember Aric Harris...

Heavenly Father,
Lord, we ask to have a heart for you and to have courage and wisdom to resist things that are not good for us. We ask that you tap us on the shoulder when we fail to recognise bad behavior. Lord we want to reflect you in all we do therefore we ask for a touch on our lives. Thank you Lord for all you do for us and the grace to overlook our failures and see our hearts. In Jesus name we pray, amen

Good morning! How are we faithing? The common saying these days is,"stop cramming your religion down my throat". This is being used even when believers just thank God for their blessings and or acknowledge God as the maker of everything. I have had it said to me and it hurt, not me but my Savior. I personally do not push people to convert. They can delete this posting anytime. When conversation leads to acknowledgement of God I will say so. I believe this is not a right thing for believers but a duty. Of course, wisdom as to how and when it is appropriate is gained by reading the Word daily. With the food of the Word ingested daily we become more and more aware of what and how things really are and less on what we want or need. If we hold these things in the Word as absolute truth, how could we not share with non-believers? We would be shirking our duty and hiding the greatest grace ever known. The Bible tells us to not "cast pearls before swine" and that is telling us that interjecting where inappropriate is useless. Shouting down someone over this solves nothing nor does it lead one to repentance. Our duty is clear and the wisdom to carry out this is the Word. Look at this for duty's sake and see what we are being told;

Ezekiel 33:2-6

"Son of man, speak to the sons of your people, and say to them,
'If I bring a sword upon a land, and the people of the land take one man from among them and make him their watchman;
and he sees the sword coming upon the land,
and he blows on the trumpet and warns the people, then he who hears the sound of the trumpet and does not take warning,
and a sword comes and takes him away, his blood will be on his own head.
'He heard the sound of the trumpet,
but did not take warning;
his blood will be on himself.
But had he taken warning, he would have delivered his life.
'But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet,
and the people are not warned,
and a sword comes and takes a person from them,
he is taken away in his iniquity;
but his blood I will require from the watchman's hand.'
NAS

2 Timothy 2:10
For this reason I endure all things for the sake of those who are chosen, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus and with it eternal glory.
NAS

1 Timothy 4:12
Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe.
NAS

1 Timothy 4:15-16
Take pains with these things; be absorbed in them, so that your progress may be evident to all. Pay close attention to yourself and to your teaching; persevere in these things; for as you do this you will insure salvation both for yourself and for those who hear you.
NAS

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your message in your Word. Lord, we ask for courage under fire, wisdom among the unwise, compassion for the lost and love for all. Forgive us and hold us when we fear and stumble. Thank you for your blessings and come quickly Jesus! We want to see you! in Jesus name, amen

Good morning! How are we faithing? We walk a fine line in this faith. We struggle with all sorts of things hurled at us from the enemy. Being able to recognise these snares is something that is developed by prayer and supplication. If we do not prepare for the warfare that goes on in the world we are susceptible to it. We all stumble and we all fall for schemes sometimes but by setting our hearts on the Lord and his teachings the failings become less severe and less often. For me, correcting people who are wrong was a battle. While I was able to correct, I had a big problem being corrected. That is a bad thing but when I realized what a scoundrel I was, being right took a back seat to following Jesus. It still irks me when something is said that I know is wrong but the importance of correcting is no longer the issue but showing Jesus and his grace takes the wheel and then they can see any folly on there own and that is a lesson learned that will stay with them.

2 Timothy 2:23-26
But refuse foolish and ignorant speculations, knowing that they produce quarrels.
And the Lord's bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.
NAS

Titus 3:1-7
Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed, to malign no one, to be uncontentious, gentle, showing every consideration for all men.
For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.
But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that being justified by His grace we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
NAS

Heavenly Father,
Lord we ask forgiveness when we get haughty and point fingers. We ask forgiveness for not focusing on you in everything. We ask for wisdom and peace from your mighty hands so we may be reflections of your love and grace. Lord we ask for protection from the enemies schemes. Keep us protected in our weakness. We ask you touch the doctors and the people who are hurting. Let there be healing of body and souls, in Jesus name we pray, amen

Good morning! How are we faithing? How about some encouraging words for us to think on?

Colossians 3:12-17
And so, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience;
bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.
And beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.
And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.
Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.
NAS

Psalms 145:17
The LORD is righteous in all His ways,
And kind in all His deeds.
NAS

Proverbs 16:24
Pleasant words are a honeycomb,
Sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
NAS

Proverbs 3:3-8
Do not let kindness and truth leave you;
Bind them around your neck,
Write them on the tablet of your heart.
So you will find favor and good repute
In the sight of God and man.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.
Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the LORD and turn away from evil.
It will be healing to your body,
And refreshment to your bones.
NAS

Heavenly Father,
Lord, teach us to rely on you. Teach us to be of good cheer and be compassionate even in the midst of trials and trouble the world sends. We ask for healing of our minds and hearts and of this nation that it turns to you before it is to late. Lord we humble ourselves before you asking for wisdom to speak truth and love at all times. In Jesus name we pray, amen

Good morning! How are we faithing? Let me tell you fellow zealots something. It doesn't matter what the sin is that others are committing. It doesn't matter how those others do or don't do things. (We are not talking crimes and justice here but behavior and beliefs.) Our responsibility as a believer in Messiah, Jesus the Christ, is to introduce him. Now if someone asks me what I believe about a certain sin, I will tell them what the Word says directly and if the particular sin isn't specified I will tell them principles taught in the Word. Again this is on the same theme we've talked about this week which is not judging but leave the fixing of others to God. I know I have struck a nerve when someone gets upset and tells me to stop "cramming that religious stuff down their throat." I do not do that. I present Jesus and the Holy Spirit convicts, not condemns. There have been some pretty awful things happening in the news and justice will eventually prevail but our goal is not to make others act the way we think they ought to. Living by Biblical principles is what we ought to strive for. I don't care what people I meet do or don't do because that isn't even the issue. Would I stop a crime by whatever means necessary if I am able to? You bet yer bunions I would and you should to but again, that is the flip side of the coin we are handling. Jesus went out to the dregs of society and he also went to the "holy men". So our prayers for those less fortunate and those not so are what we should do. We must speak truth in season. We must love. We must follow Jesus' example and meet the needs where they are. Is this easy? Heavens no! We can very easily move from compassion to judgement and that is precisely why we must be in the Word and in prayer all the time or we can become just like those people protesting at G.I. funerals, missing the point completely with wisdom tossed out the window.

Romans 14:13-14

Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather determine this-- not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother's way.
NAS

1 Thessalonians 5:16-22
Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the Spirit; do not despise prophetic utterances. But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good;
NAS

1 John 4:1-4
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; and this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world.
NAS

Isaiah 55:6-7
Seek the LORD while He may be found;
Call upon Him while He is near.
Let the wicked forsake his way,
And the unrighteous man his thoughts;
And let him return to the LORD,
And He will have compassion on him;
And to our God,
For He will abundantly pardon.
NAS

Remember Niko Beres...

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your wisdom in your Word. Thank you for teaching us how to behave. Lord we ask for forgiveness when we turn from your wisdom to ours. Lord we want to present your son so others can know you as we do. We ask for discernment in all conversations. We ask for wisdom of physical needs as well as spiritual needs. Lord, we lift up old friends and new to you. Guide and hold them as they seek your face. Lord, calm Niko and let there be a good report from the doctors. Give courage to him and let him know you are present in his life. We ask these things in the holy gracious name of Jesus, amen

Great morning! How are we faithing? On this same thought process we've talked about lately, you know, the one about "improving before one comes to grace in Jesus", I want you to look at this closely;

1 John 1:5-10
And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.
If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
NAS

Do you see that? If we are sinners, even after saving grace, then it isn't possible to "get good enough" to come to God. We remain sinners but by Jesus' gift of saving grace we are able to come to the Lord. Wow. So stop falling for,"Let me get this right and then God will accept me" because that idea is from the pit of hell and smells of brimstone.

remember our troops...remember the children...

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your saving grace that saves someone as decrepit as me. We ask for calm assurance of your love for us. Help us know that we know that we know you have saved us no matter what we face. Lord we honor and praise you this day and request you help our troops be merciful . Watch our kids and help us recognise true danger. Thank you for your Word , in Jesus name, amen

Good morning! How are we faithing? It really amazes me but doesn't surprise me that the world hates believers in Jesus the Christ. Yes there have been some who perverted the faith in Messiah but the message of faith, grace and love has remained throughout the ages. When people see Jesus in us and not our "church" or our "religion" they recognise truth. They may not desire to learn more but a true walk with God will be recognised and thusly, that group or that person will endure criticism and persecution because darkness cannot be where light is. Remember this; those of you who are thinking you must improve or get better before you come to Jesus, you don't get rid of the darkness before you turn on a light do you? The light removes the darkness. Think about that.

John 16:1-3

These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.
They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.
And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.
KJV

John 12:42-43
Nevertheless many even of the rulers believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they were not confessing Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue; for they loved the approval of men rather than the approval of God.
NAS

Matthew 24:8-9
"Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations on account of My name.
NAS

2 Timothy 3:12
And indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
NAS

1 John 3:13
Do not marvel, brethren, if the world hates you.
NAS

Remember the Hurst family...

Heavenly Father,
Thank you Lord for your grace and love, even for wretch's like me. Lord we lift your name higher than anything else and praise you. Help us be courageous and alert when we are attacked. Help us remain grounded in your Word and in your love. Help us know your grace is all I need. We do ask for blessing be poured on us all so we may know truth. Thank you for allowing us to be your servants and help us see truth in everything we do. In Jesus holy name we pray...

Good morning! How are we faithing? The news is full of talking heads lately. Blame and finger pointing without the facts. Emotions allowed to rule thought. I understand anguish. I understand why some lash out. I understand pain. So does our savior. Our savior went through more than any of us and although it is hard right now for you, focus on Jesus. Get into the Word and seek truth. If you have to throw a tantrum to relieve stress, do it where no one is punished for your pain. I do have the luxury of a garage and a field so I can find ways to relieve that stress and to talk to my Lord without people thinking I'm crazy for talking to myself or for people getting hurt in collateral damage. Look at these verses today and pray for wisdom and healing.

James 1:19-20
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
KJV

Proverbs 8:32
"Now therefore, O sons, listen to me,
For blessed are they who keep my ways.
NAS

Proverbs 21:23
He who guards his mouth and his tongue,
Guards his soul from troubles.
NAS

Proverbs 19:11
A man's discretion makes him slow to anger,
And it is his glory to overlook a transgression.
NAS

Proverbs 14:29
He who is slow to anger has great understanding,
But he who is quick-tempered exalts folly.
NAS

Job 6:24
"Teach me, and I will be silent;
And show me how I have erred.
NAS

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your wisdom found in your Word. Lord we ask for that wisdom to be evident and visible as we deal with the stress of life. Lord we want to follow your ways but we stumble and sometimes fall flat on our face. Help us not inflict pain as we grow in your statures. Heal those who are sick and we ask all thin in your holy name, amen

Good morning! How are we faithing? Giving God praise is an example of ones love for him. Recognising that God is indeed the only God that redeemed us, comforts us, shows us wisdom and love when we aren't even lovable because we continuously sin and fail is a recognition of our fallibility and God's infallibility. So when you talk to God in prayer and not just the formal prayers, you cultivate that loving relationship that he planned for all of us. We don't understand alot, in fact, most things are out of out understanding we learn trust in that love and we worship our Father for who he is and what he's done. I feel for those who don't know him and are doing whatever culture has dictated. We need to pray for those people. Look at these verses and reflect. Ask God to reveal them to you...

Romans 11:36

For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.
KJV

Isaiah 42:12
Let them give glory to the LORD,
And declare His praise in the coastlands.
NAS

Revelation 4:11
"Worthy art Thou, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for Thou didst create all things, and because of Thy will they existed, and were created."
NAS

Isaiah 66:18
"For I know their works and their thoughts; the time is coming to gather all nations and tongues. And they shall come and see My glory.
NAS

Great morning! How are we faithing? You know, some of the things we've done as the human race makes me wonder why God loves us and why he doesn't say something like Cartman says,"screw you guys, I'm going home." God obviously loves us or he wouldn't give us the opportunity to repent even when he knows we'll keep doing things and falling down. Man, I screw up all the time and yet I know he picks me up, brushes me off, corrects me and gives me a shove to get back at it. Jesus never failed yet he gave his life so we who do fail could live forever with him in heaven. Is heaven clouds and harps and stuff? No. What is it like? I only know what the Word says,"no more weeping, no more sadness, no sin or even temptation of it." Wow! If you think on just those things, it opens up a vision of a place that is so grand it is unfathomable in our flesh, or this world for that matter. The recent events in Arizona sure brings back some reality of where we live and just how depraved we humans can be. The selfish desires we cultivate in our lives can hinder and subvert life as we know it. Satan and his minion could care less about God's human creation but as long as we fail, it breaks God's heart and that is what Satan laughs about. Jesus came so we could have away to defeat those dark forces and to dwell with the Creator forever. Are you at your wits end? Have you realized that the methods you've used all your life keep whoopin your own tail? Let me introduce you to my Savior....

John 6:35-40
And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.
All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
KJV

John 8:12
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
KJV

Isaiah 50:10
Who is among you that fears the LORD,
That obeys the voice of His servant,
That walks in darkness and has no light?
Let him trust in the name of the LORD and rely on his God.
NAS

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your Word that sustains our focus and keeps us seeking your ways. Lord, we ask forgiveness for our shortcomings and ask for wisdom and grace so we may show likewise to the lost. Lord we ask for healing of this country. Monetarily, spiritually, and culturally. We ask we not inflict pain but help whomever whenever. Thank you for all you do, in Jesus holy name, amen
