So no prior military candidates.....I'm guessing this is NOT an Equal Opportunity employer. Such a policy diminishes a big applicant base.

$128K/yr.....is this money coming from govt contracts?
Sounds like it's right up your alley FETC!!
As long as the fire truck has twin turret mounted .50's and I can have an AK and all the RPG's I can carry, I'm in. Otherwise, FERGIT IT!!! LMAO
No doubt david I was thinkin the same thing and there has to be bullet proof armour on the truck to.And instead of 25 days vacation a year I will work the 25 and have the rest of the year off.
I make $105,000 here in Washington, work 8 days a month and have 11 shifts vacation with full bennies. My Engine is very busy and we see enough fire. So, I don't think so.
WOW! In 1985 is was making $220.00 a week, worked 15+ days a month, and had 1 week vacation. This was after 9+ years and rank of Capt. Things sure have changed for the fire service and I'm happy to see that.
A man after me own heart!! If permitted backup, will take an Apache bringing up the rear! Nothing sweeter than the sound of that rotor above you.
i agree, i am former army and am very familiar with BIAP, so I dont understand why they would want candidates from the military
Richard, I read the post and said the same thing but I am not looking for a firefighter slot. Fire Chief or Battallion Chief with more money is the only thing I am considering.

David who is "the company" for which is providing the protection services?

Not sure if this helps, but I read his profile, on his "latest activity"(and before this posting was put up) and I believe it stated that the job is for an Australian Airforce outfit. And they are leaning more towards hiring Australian personnel. After a few replies, it was bumped off the "recent" list. He left an Email contact.
You west coast guys get paid too much.(or we get paid too less) DC is the third most expensive city in the country behind NYC and San Fran and we start at $44k and top out at $68k. Baltimore, NYC, Philly, and Boston also make about the same.
Hey Guys,

Thanks for the responses. Yes, these position do exclude prior military from any country. That is part of the agreement our client has to abide by. It is not in anyway a decision by my company or our client. I am an American and Air Force Firefighter veteran. I do not in any feel good about excluding any veteran from any military. I hold service to ones country in high regard and so does our client. They have many veterans working for their company all over the world. This is strictly business and the wishes of the Iraqi government. I don't agree with it, but I don't make the rules either. If you really feel strong about it, write your congressmen.
