Im getting a flashlight to put on my helmet, but whats the best kind to get? Strap one on or clip one on? And what kind of light do I get? A cheap one where i can replace them easy or an expensive one that can hold up in a fire? Any input would be great. Thanks

Streamlight Vantage. We issue these for all our firefighters. You can find better prices in many different places. We pay 90 for them.
I use a Pelican LED flashlight that has a glow in the dark lens housing. I use the Streamlight rubber helmet strap to mount it. The flashlight is great. Very reliable and the 4 AA batteries have lasted 3 years so far. The rubber helmet strap is my preferred way to mount the light because it is low profile and doesn't get caught up on things like some of the brackets do. But the rubber degrades over time and my straps have broken after about 18 months. They're cheap so I just deal with it.
This is by far the best light I have ever used.
Cheap, easily replaceable = Garrity. And they hold up! They also come in LED form, and can be purchased at just about any home improvement or department store.

Personally, I switched from a clip on Stealth/Stream Light to a strap on Garrity, no regrets.
I may only be an explorer, but I've use a Garrity light from rite-aid for the past 2 years and it's held up perfectly for everything. Only $4, comes with batteries, and no worries if it melts or breaks!
I use a LED Streamlight 4AA, with a Blackjack mount. Love them both
I use a Garrity lite it has worked for me for three years.
Thanks for all the input guys, I ended up getting a LED garrity light. I walked around last night with the light on and it does the job. Again thanks for all the input.
I used to use the ED Streamlight 4AA, with a Blackjack mount, and liked it a lot, except the length of the light cause it to get in the way sometimes.

I switched to the Streamlight vantage and absolutely love it! It's the BRIGHTEST light I've ever seen and the blue dot light on back makes it very easy to follow someone wearing one even in very smokey conditions, it's very easy to turn on and off and you an swivel it when you need to.

Greenman

This is the light that I use. It works great. They are pricey. They use 4 AA batteries and has a flashing red LED on the battery box when in use. FoxFury is the manufactures and I have the 20 LED model.
i just got this same setup, and i love it.
