I will say as staffing has dropped, calls have continually rose. We avg around 10,000 something a year. My last round I felt like I did about half that personally....my ass was dragging at the end of the round.
My dept. (Combination of full and part time personel) handels around 2000 fire calls and 2000 medical calls.
We have 2 ambulances for 39,5 square mile (+/- 40.000 people), 1 city. We protect 4 cities for fire emergencies
These ambulances respond from our HQ in Lommel. We have 2 stations, and the total protected area for fire is 89 square mile with +/- 73000 residentes.
We have chemical industrie, normal industrial activities and a large tourist complex.
We have 30 full time fire figters and 80 part time fire fighters in the 2 stations.
We're a small town volunteer department with a 100 square mile district. We run an average of 300 calls a year. We are at 175 now. About 75% EMS First Responder calls.
