my volly dept 1 of 4 stations in the district we run 700 - 900 a year all fire calls and my career we run 1500 -1700 a year and run about 60-40 fire to ems calls so far we are at about 1015 for the year.
300+ majority of our calls are fire/mva's. My dept responded to 4 working fires in the last week. Two of the four had fatalities. we had our asses handed to us this week
We have a small volly department in Northern Michigan, township of about 120 square miles, most of that is state land. Our call volume is usually somewhere around 100 calls a year, but we're up this year so far, and have almost 100 now.
Where I work EMS runs are a little down I think from last year.... 1,2 million calls. I know fire prevention is doing its job - fires are way down compared to where they used to be. Where I vollie EMS and fire runs are both up about 25%.
We are in a rural setting and cover around 48 square miles in our township but also respond on mutual aid comonly to 4 other counties. We also cover part of a large State Park. We respond to around 300 calls a year with about 70% being EMS/Rescue nature
