Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I have always wanted to be a fire fighter. once I got on the Wilton VFD, I studied and took the 1st responder exam and passed. I like being able to give help where it is needed. And as a FF and 1st responder, I can do that.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
helping others who are need of help
Top Issues Facing Responders:
The need for better safety equipment and more funding for the smaller departments. Without these smaller departments, alot of homes and people would be lost.

Injured FF Entry

Hey Everyone,



I wasn't trying to decieve anyone by posting the blog about the injured FF's. It was sent to me by a friend of mine who is an Alabama-Coushata Indian and also a FF. Another Injured FF

Hey...

Another Firefighter has been injured at a working car fire from "projectiles". While not a new problem, one other fairly recent event was when a FF in Windsor Locks, CT was seriously injured when a hood strut "took off" and shot into his leg, thru his bunker gear, seriously injuring him as well. Had a bad grass fire yesterday. Since we are a volunteer department, we were lucky that the fire happened at the time of day that it did. When it was first called out. I was the only one to respond. After I got to the fire and hosed it down using our brush truck I was able to get it under control and as luck would have it, I ran out of water JUST as our pumper arrived ( another member heard me talking to SO telling them I was I R to the scene).
