A group of firefighters with Marion County Fire and Rescue have been arrested in connection with what authorities describe as a violent hazing incident. According to public reporting, the alleged misconduct triggered a criminal investigation that resulted in multiple arrests.
Earlier this year, we covered the criminal charges brought against two firefighters from Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service firefighters who were accused of using fire-hoses to flood a baseball field at Montgomery Blair High School. A video from July 2025 captured water from a fire truck pouring onto the field — an action prosecutors …

The Massachusetts Appeals Court has ruled that a state law granting public employees up to 40 days of paid military leave annually, grants firefighter-service members who work a 24-hour shift, 40 such shifts each year. Chief,
I am glad to see this blog for Legal Issues on the Firefighter Nation site. We as firefighters, parents, employees, and every area of our lives are affected by the law of the land. Having access to accurate advice based in the laws of the state we live in can help prevent and solve problems.
I look forward to speaking with you.

Unfortunately, when I got my new appointment as Chair, I had already made commitments this week. As it is, I wouldn't have been able to be there anyway- as of today, my youngest daughter has got pneumonia (so much for commitments) so I would have had to cancel anyway. It's funny how things work out that way sometimes.
Just scanning my "friends" list and noticed you were on it (I guess I need to look at that stuff from time to time). I'm the new Chair of 1006 and (as a result) on the Pro Quals TCC. I'll have take advantage of this network to bounce some stuff off you at some point, which is the whole reason I got on FFN to begin with. Anyway, hope all is well- stay safe.
