we do our own rehab. all of our ems personel are trained in rehab as well as we have a county rehab unit.

We have large dept, so some of our trucks pulls double duty.

2 dedicated rehab trucks
3 utility trucks for air and power
2 canteens for cooling and food on multiple alarms fore and a major desaters
4 Technical Rescue trucks that as fans and extra equipment
83 personnel not including the chiefs.

At times we use a couple of transit buses as an extra rehab for cooling.

Everyone get trained in rehab from day one. The ff that are on the trucks do get rotated so that they don't get stressed out about the job.

for our rehab our first responders were shown by B.C.A.S.(British Columbia Ambulance Service)how to check over firefighters to take blood preasures and monitor vitals,all our firefighters had their vitals and blood preasure taken at practice and the results are kept in the first responder vehicle to use as a baseline at a fire or accident scene

We do our own rehab. Everyone on our department is medical trained. We do have agreements in place with the ambulance service to do stand by. But that is at the call of the IC. Our local Salvation Army is a wonderful asset. They will bring us cold drinks on hot days, warm drinks for those cold northern Michigan winters. And food if we are on a long scene. They have agreements in place with local restaurants IE, pizza places, McDonalds, ect ect...someplace that can feed a large group fast. One of our full-time departments recently obtained an old city bus they are converting into a rehab/command post. Again its there if IC requests it.

Our EMS units are primarily responsible for rehab, they carry the RAD 57, water and of course medical equipment. All fire fighters must report to them after going through their second tank of air and from that point on they call it a day. Each of our apparatus also carries a minimum of 1 case of 12oz bottles of water and Fire fighters are required to re-hydrate while changing their first bottle of air.
