well now that's been cleared up, what happened to the "stay at the truck during a ride along"? and if that was me and saw some snot nosed kid doing that on a fire scene, the only thing this kid will experience is going to the dentist office to get them pearly white teeth fixed after, somebody, maybe not me, rearranged them in his mouth......
looks like he's got his fingers in one of them Chineese Finger Traps and is yellin at someone to get him unstuck.....
Whackers R US!
haha might be lol
first i want to know is A) why was he issued a turnout coat if he was just on a ride along? and B) Isn't he "supposed" to stay with the the apparatus, so incidents like this don't happen?
JUST SO ALL OF YOU KNOW: This is me when I was 15. It was a training exercise and that trailer needed to be cleared off the lot. I took it as a joke. I love the comments though, they make me laugh! Also, yes I was a newbie, but being part of fire/ems taught me a lot. If I hadn't almost been killed in a wreck myself, id probably still be working in the ambulance. (Our EMS department is one of the best in the state btw.)
Hi Dillon.. just wondering if you are working with the department now? Or are you trying to get hired by the fire department or the EMS?
Hopefully you are already hired, because I could certainly see this thread and that picture as a deterent by an agency (that doesn't know you personally), to hiring anyone who considers it a joke, regardless of the situation.
Hope you understand how this sort of thing can seriously be taken out of context, and really does upset lots of hard working brothers and sisters to keep the image of today's fire and emergency services in tact.
Takes some pretty big balls to admit that you were the one. That's not at all a bad thing to man up to a mistake that was made. Hell, just this morning I read where a Fire Chief was terminated for something he said he didn't do, but with facts showing the contrary. the powers that be felt otherwise and canned him.
No, not working for them at all. Not even interested.
Certainly a strong justification for not allowing children juniors on scene.
